Yes, and it was an amazing sight. I like seeing all kinds of stuff like that, like meteor showers or lunar and solar eclipses. Once in Hawaii I saw the even rarer flash of green at sunset. I'm not talking about the more common green hue that can occur at sunset and lasts for many seconds or even minutes. I'm talking the very brief split second dark green flash that sometimes but rarely happens. I was in the restaurant were I was staying, waiting for my new wife to come down from the room, and looking out at the ocean as the sun was setting and appearing to sink into the ocean and a split second dark green flash occurred. If I had blinked I would have missed it. It was obvious that no one else there had seen it.

Yes, I used to live in an area where you see them quite often, so I have seen them many times. They are very pretty and impressive, but I find it hard to explain the experience to someone who hasn't seen it. I guess it's just one of those things you need to see yourself to understand it. What a lot of people don't know about them is that they actually make sounds too. they sound kind of like a fire on the sky, if that makes any sense.

hi momalisa yes a number of times as I w as born and raised inSouth Sakota where te winters are really bad. I have seen them maybe twenty or more times and each time it is amazing as they play across the sky in many colors like some kind of light show only nature could produce. I marvel every time I have seen them. I never saw them again when I move to California of co rse. Glad I did have so m ny opportunities to see them while growing up in South Dakota.I felt excited thrilled and absolutely amazed.
