So, who had doubts on SA considering the best test team, HUH ???... / myLot

South Africa defeating pakistan on 3rd day after forcing them to follow on, after this if there is anyone, have doubts SA is not the best team, he/ she should admit himself in mental hospital :P . Clean sweep, that's what i was expecting from my favorite team. love you guys, be there on top forever...

Yes but also no. Though they have got a clean sweep against Pakistan and they may be a little better than every one but not at all invincibles. They are far away from the feeling of invincibility. The way Aussies were, they are far from there. They have given Pakistan a lot of chances during second Test match but Pakistan poor batsmen unavailable to capitalise on them. Their real test will be against England and also when they tour India. I think getting past against Cook & Co. is going to be the challenge for them. When England is going to tour SA? Do you have any idea about it? One more fact that they have not beaten Australia(Test series) on their home turf. So what about that..

Not sure about their trip to Asia or Australia series, but i am confident they conquer it as well. they are currently the best Test Team.

They are the best but not best enough that they can give torrid time to team India in India as England did. And the reason for that they still doesn't have good spinners. They are still dependent on their fast bowlers. On the other hand, England is blessed with some great spinners like Swann. So even on paper England team to me look quite balanced for all conditions. Also, Kallis form is dipping and they soon have to find a replacement for him.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well whatever may be the case, SA has shown the entire world cricket fraternity why they are the numero uno team in the test format. beating a balanced team like Pak and that too on the third day is not a small thing. So kudos to SA team. What say?

for sure, they are the best test team. fast bowlers - steyn, morkel. batsmen - amla, smith, faf. all rounders - AB, Kallis. what else you can ask for? Their only challenge could be Asian spinning tracks... lets C how they perform here :)

Another dominant display by the Proteas. I think except for the brief resistance in the second test by Pakistan, it has been one-sided affair with both the first and third test not lasting the distance. Abbot won the man of the match and De Villiers won the Man of the series award. But for me the men of the series award should be given to the collective bowling unit of South Africa. They have really been dominant this season. Cheers! Ram

is ever shining best performing team since they started to play in cricket, I completely agree with you person who says SA is not the best team must be in mental hospital. They are not temporary but they are permanent in best performing & Ranking from long. According to me SA is my favorite and no.1 team for me other than India & Aus. as per their 100% performance in every match.

No doubt that South Africa is a great side and they deserve to be in the number one spot in the ICC ranking. They have a great captain to lead them and a good individual players. Them seem to be at the same level as the Australian team were a few years ago when they were a formidable team. Hope they continue their good run.
