my favorite teacher

Last Saturday, I attended a very big gathering in our church. Lots of people from the different side of the Metro went there. I went there with my siblings and to my surprise we saw our cousin whom we did not see for a long time. But what surprised me most was seeing my favorite teacher in elementary. The last time I saw her was when I joined a sports fest wherein her husband was the youth director. She still looks the same and still beautiful as she was. I really like her a lot because she served as my adviser and a friend who listened to our problems and guided us until we graduated. I can say that she is my favorite teacher because even when I was already in high school, she was the one I turn to whenever I need advice. But her husband was promoted that's why they moved far away from us. I enjoyed my elementary days because I had a very supportive teacher and a good adviser like her. She really proved that our teachers are our second parents and I salute her for that.

Tons of thanks to you for initiating this discussion that to0 on the right day as today is very important day for me in my student life as I have topped in annual exams after complete five years . And the class in which I topped wast the first class of senior secondary school(tougher level.) I was feeling very happy, celebrated with friends, went to park, went to temple. But there was still something missing, and that something is now complete. The 'something' I am speaking here is nothing but sparing my time at this moment to remind= in my heart of my favorite teacher. He was our Literature and Social studies teacher for about three years (sixth to eighth). But , I had to change the school due to the transfer of my father. But , he had a great impact on me and owe him to great deal that he came in my life. I don't remember much of the social studies which he taught but I do remember the moral stories and moral messages he used to constantly give us . He used to be our moral science teacher too during my sixth standard. I have been much spiritually influenced by him. His tale is endless so I think I must stop my tale here itself. CONGRATULATIONS to you that you were able to meet him. I have already planned to meet him after I become something nice man in society and give my achievements as his fees to him. But, now he is practically thousands of kilometer from where he lives. Once again THANK YOU.

Yes , true said. He used to treat every student as his child and even though he was not our any games teacher he used to grab the opportunities to teach us many types of interesting games. In fact, my school life at that time used to be fun because of him. :)

Thanks for responding to this discussion and congratulations for a job well done. It's nice to hear that your favorite teacher had a great impact to what you are now. Those kind of teachers are the ones who dedicated themselves not only for teaching but for also guiding their students. Those memories of them will always be in our hearts and I salute them for treating us not only as students but also as children of their own. :)

There are teachers that really do wonders to their students and we salute them. I'd been a teacher too but I have only gotten close to a few students.

It's good that you had found a teacher that indeed shows how a teacher should be (second parents). These days, it's tough to have that - with the number of students per class, I doubt the teacher could even remember the name of each! I didn't really have the chance to experience those with any of my teachers. Though I have a favorite, it was more because of how she was a friend to all of us (not really similar to how you could be close with your teacher). But still the same, I respected her wisdom and guidance for all of us. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

Yeah, you're right. Actually I had a chance to become very close to her because we're only 10 in the class. I went to a Christian school and not so many students study there. Nowadays, it's really impossible for other students to experience that especially because there are lots of students and not everyone is given a chance to get along well with their teachers.

I feel nostalgic reading your post Gem. Yes, it's nice to reminisce the past let alone memories about school. Mind you, I remember all my elementary teacher's complete names! yet can't recall any of my university professors names, their surnames at least. I haven't seen them for decades. I miss them all. You're right they're not just teachers but a second mother, too. Memories from my elem were what I treasure the most. :)

Good to hear that you treasure those memories too. We both haven't heard anything from them for so long but the things and values they imparted to us will always be in our hearts and minds. Being a second parent to many students is hard and will really take a lot of patience and dedication to your craft.

Wow, it's good to hear that. It's nice that you still see your teacher whenever you go to your hometown. Unlike me because she lives far from us and I don't have any communication with her. They really have a special place in our hearts because not everyone was given the opportunity to have teachers who loved us like their own children.

Thanks for sharing in details, though i have taught in colleges for over 3 decades, i have greatest regards for my teachers; similarly my students have great regard for me when i see my teacher, i touch their feet that is the way of showing respect, and seek their blessings.. some of my primary teachers are alive too.
