Top Discussions

In all of your discussion that you post here, there is a chance that all of them might be reach for "todays top discussion" as long as the other mylotters here knows that you are responding on your own topic or their topic and make a long debate on a single post on that day and dont forget to rate the (+) sign if the response is helpful and (-) sign if not. example this discussion have lots of response and you comment them back and forth and have high rating, it sure that its possible to move forward this post and make a top discussion. that's all i know and my opinion also.

I think no-one knows how discussions reach the 'top' list but there is no secret to reaching the first page of the 'hot' list. The 'hot' topics are those which receive the most activity (responses + comments) during the first 24 hours after they are posted. This topic was posted 50 minutes ago and you are nowhere to be seen. If you want it to start moving up the 'hot' list then you should come back and add quality comments, which further the topic, to the responses. This will make it visible in the other lists (similar and recent for example) and when more people see it they might participate too. This will give you more chances to comment back agaian and make it busy.

I think that they choose by the number of responses and the number of discussions within the discussion. The quality of the discussion has to do with how you are rated too. I think that knowing your Mylot friends, what they respond well to, and what excited them will help you get top billing.

I think that it is computer generation. I have to say that I see a lot of them on there and they have only a few posts, so yeah I think it is just the posts that were made between the times. Like there are a lot made around a certain time, so maybe they are just generating them through so other can see them.

I am not at all sure of how the top discussions are chosen or even how the discussions that make it to the daily digest are determined. However, I do think that the ratings that the discussion gets by other members is one of the things that is very important in determining what the top discussions are. Of course I would expect it to be something that is well written and is deep because those are the kinds of discussions that actually leave a good place for other people to respond to them.

my thought is it is a random computer generated as i dont think that a human would say that i have seen it with just a 1 in the top post

I think it depends on the the way people rate the discussion. I am not sure, but I think if more people rate the discussions more and more rating it get and it might become on the top.

I think those discussions that garnered many responses are those listed in the Tops. It does not matter whether they are quality discussions or not. In fact there are those that tops the list that can be deleted once proven to have violated rules of mylot. It is not quality but the quantity of respondents I think. Anyone here..kindly correct me if I am wrong please?

The number of friends you have also contribute to the number of responses you will have when you start a discussion since MyLot will notify friends right through their email's inbox every time you start a new discussion here in MyLot. Just like me. I seldom start discussion here, but every I start one, I notice there is always lot of responses and most of them are from my friends here.

think I first seen the quality of the discussion. not what other members have written. Yet in my controller that looks and also put things discussions of interest to many people at such a discussion I had and I had over 30 responses. Success nice day.

I don't think I have ever had one in the top discussions and I don't look for them so I am not sure if I have even seen one yet.

Top discussion and hot discussion is selected based on the random computer selection. If your topic is good and get lot of replies it will be selected by system and listed in hot topics.

It came to my mind also and I was amazed when I saw my name on the top discussions. I do not know also the criteria on how to belong in there but I do not bother as long as my started discussions always on the list. lol

THE IDEA to get to the top is how sincere your heart works for the topic. I am new , the only consolation that I join is to have my opinion voice out. Maybe some needs help and from them I will also acquire the knowledge of information that I was not. Keep on practicing, give our opinion and advises if necessary, enjoy the works of helping others, respond to the their needs... have patience who read them, wise opinion over your works...trust that what you have in faith with your works will be rewarded someday. DONT push too hard to be at the top, when your on top you will have to maintain that dignity, there is no way to achieve more coz you have it, and the only way is to bring you down. there are lot of topics to discuss, put yourself when you want to know more of your world. From life to religion to your enviroment. what you want to know with sense of view by readers, who will be attracted to your topics. When you put something the great result will be provided...PATIENCE.LOVE.CONFIDENT. KEEP MOVING.

look at it this way, it doesn't effect your pay or your ability to have fun. i don't think that mylotter have anything to do with it. it's just the system.

steelers12 I think you are totally wrong as they use software on most things so its computer generated and I think with over two hundred thousand people here they are not going to go through all that stuff to place some on the top list., I have had mine there maybe four times in five years s I am sure its randomly selected . For one thing why do you care as it does not pay you anything if you are selected at all?. So who cares. they would not single out any one group just because that would make people like yourself feel mistreated. I have had many discussions on the hot list and there the number of responses get them on there again you do not gain any thing so why want it?. Isure do not care. I am busy here having fun not caring if I am popular or unpopular or anything in between.Just enjoy being here and do not fret the small stuff.Participate and you will earn nicely and have fun too
