My ankle is killing me

I went to walk my cousins dogs, put them back in her place, and was leaving. She lives 3 sets of stairs up. I was walking down and slid, they are this ceramic, cement type material, guess they were wet, and I missed a few steps. I landed on my ankle, and twisted the wrong way. I got up and walk off, so I highly doubt it is broken. But hours later it's rather sore, I wont be taking them far for their afternoon walk, just enough to go to the bathroom. It's more in my toes, if I bend them it radiates up my foot, or if I step down the wrong way.

OUCH!! I do hope that you didn't sprain your ankle. Bruising will be bad enough. A few years ago I was walking out my next door neighbors front door and their tile steps were wet. I ended up slipping and landed right on my butt! I had a huge purple bruise with a knot under it for weeks.

it is probably just a bit sore from the impact. i also have pain in my foot from this big ball that is on the side of it. i think that we should both go get it looked at, if it's not better. sorry to hear you fell, btw.

That's what I thought as well, I will leave it a few days and see what happens. How did you get a big ball on your foot? Like a growth. I just keep forgetting about it, and step down, and boy does it hurt.

dear moongypsy you do need to take that to your doctor as it sounds like a blood blister which might have to be drained or it willjust geep being really painful.

You've probably sprained or at least bruised something. But if it continues to hurt after a few days, you might want to have it looked at by a doctor.

hi Ricki remember the slogan RICE for a sprained ankle rest , ice to it ,compress, and lastly elevate. You need to keep your foot up, put Ice in a thick wash cloth and hold it to your ankle for a few minutes every few hours, and wrap some elastic bandage around it til the pain and swelling are gone. Hope it clears up in a few days but you do need to keep off it and using it a lot makes it worse and it will take longer to heal.

Probably just sore from the impact, I would just try icing the foot and keeping it elevated for awhile and try not using it. I hope it heals up soon for you.

Seriously I can relate myself to this incident. I study in a collage where my classroom is on the 3rd floor. I was walking down the stairs when a fried of mine called out my name. Instead of looking at the way I was walking I looked up to see who was calling me. My leg slipped and I sprained my ankle in a similar way to yours. I felt ok at that moment but at the end of the day it was swollen. It took a whole day of bed rest before I could start walking again.

hi ricki sounds like a mild sprain an you need to remember rice rest ,ice, elevate, and compress with elastic bandage and stay off it as much as y ou can.the ice will stop the swelling and the rest and elevation also will help and compressing it helps too.
