I saw on Facebook where someone posted you cut off the end of lettuce, celery, whatever. Place it in a dish with some water, and it's suppose to grow a whole need head. I go through about $25 in veggies alone each week, so this would save me money. Normally I give Marco the ends of the lettuce, and celery as he munches away on it. Most I know compost it, so it's worth giving it a shot.

Lettuce takes some time to grow. I have planted lettuce from seed and then used it leaf by leaf instead of pulling the whole lettuce off the ground. If you spend so much money on veggies, why don`t you plant some veggies? You can do it even in containers.

I will, if it will save some money in the long run.

There would have to be some roots left for this to occur...

It's worth a try, the roots would be at the bottom such as in lettuce, or celery. I have been told you can replant the piece and grow more.

I don't think that's possible, but I could be wrong. I've never heard that celery will sprout or lettuce. I would be very surprised and happy if its true.
