Jennifer Lawrence tripped on the stairs as she climbs into the stage to claim her Best Actress award in the Oscar Award for her performance in the "Silver Linings Playbook". Please take a look at the picture in this link if you will agree with me that her gown seemed heavy that made her tripped. http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/news/oscar-trip-jennifer-lawrence-055705789.html

I've seen the video via the news. And it was a god think thatshe slipped that way and not fell on her butt. I remember during my wedding when the gown I was wearing was quite heavy. The gown wasfull of glass beads us the 6 meter train I usec was also full of glasd beads and to top it all my shoes were killing me! I swear I was praying real hard that I maybe able to walj down the aisle without tripping!

Wow, gown filled with glass beads, that could indeed be heavy. So, you wished that the walk be over at once, since your shoes was also killing you already. I experienced that feeling of walking with a shoes that is really hurting the feet. But with a heavy gown, not yet. I won't experience that because i hate intricate gowns. Besides, i am always after my comfort whenever i choose a dress.

I never really realized it would be that heavy. Besides, the reason why I had a gown with thoseglass beads coz I really wanted to use the train that my mom used on her wedding. It was actually sewn by her grandmother which mames it really special.

Hello, dodoazo! I haven't seen you for quite awhile..... Anyway, that is what I did. I made sure that every step I made is not going to make me fall or slip. It was the best day of my life and in no way did I ever plan of making it the talk of the town just because of tripping on my gown.

I agree. But it was a very beautiful gown, nevertheless! And her award, very much deserved! I saw the movie and was very impressed by her performance. She was very believable and natural. Now going back to her getting tripped...have you noticed how much bad luck Jennifer has been having with stairs during awards shows? Back at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards held just weeks before, her dress also ripped just above her knees! Poor girl!

Really! She's an unlucky girl when it comes to her gown. Maybe it was too tight this time.

Her gown during the SAG Awards was snagged while walking the red carpet. While her gown at the Oscars was too long and heavy for her, I think.

I think she's just too excited to get her hands to the trophy.

It was quite an embarrassing moment for her and yet she handled it with perfect aplomb. She was even confident enough to make fun of her accident. I think only a few people her age can exhibit the same composure and poise.

She has to carry it with grace, because she has to stand by her " wearing of a heavy gown".

Or maybe she already have in mind what to do, in case she tripped, the moment she have worn the gown for the event.

That was the best part of her acceptance of the award! It humanized her. Yes, her gown may have been bottom-heavy, but if I were her, I'd chalk that trip on the moment. That even with her young career, she was recognized for her work. And the emotions and accolades she felt, made her trip. It made it more memorable!

Thanks for this discussion I have seen it, it is really heavy, here during weddings many wear heavily embrodorised that are weaved using gold and silver threads and gem stones set in the boarder.. normal sari are 5-5.50 meters long, but there are some 12 meters or more

I haven't experienced wearing a heavy gown yet. Even my wedding dress was a light one, that's because i don't like to be uncomfortable during my wedding. I think it is expected that you might fall when you are in a heavy gown, because in addition you have to consider your footwear.

I watched the fall and the gown was relly big and uncomfotable. The good thing is that she got up with grace. And took her award with even more grace

Did you see her gown. The lower part seemed to occupy a lot of space and heavy. Thus, she can't walk well and tripped. Well, you have no other choice in such a situation than to get up with grace. Most beauty contestants and models fall on the runway because of their gowns being stepped into or because of the very high heels.
