for me, what i do is retreat. haha.. yes i retreat. I'm hurt, so the normal thing to do is retreat. I keep myself locked up, cry and pour out everything. After I cry, i pray and read God's love letter to us all (the Bible), if im still feeling down i text or call my friend talk about it, then i go out and treat myself with my favorite food, a movie, some alone time on the park/mall. Then i return to my day to day activity.
as you can see there's a phase. phase 1: retreat. admit to yourself that it hurt, let yourself feel the pain and cry about it, its normal. phase 2: ask help, its normal to ask help or comfort from others, it'll be easier to accept if someone's there beside you strengthening you. phase 3: be happy, doesn't mean you lose someone, or you were hurt, you can't be happy anymore, so treat yourself to something nice. phase 4: live again, after you've admit the hurt, and ask help and try to be happy, live out your life again, hurting doesn't mean you stop living right? so allow yourself to get hurt, but at one point you've got to come into your senses that the self pity should stop and live your life again.
God bless you

Yesterday I got discharged from the psychiatric hospital where I spent some time because of my depression. Before I left the hospital my doctor asked what I was going to do to get away from the sad thoughts and the painful thoughts about things from my past and I told him that the internet is a good way to get away from those thoughts, because it helps me focus on other things. At the moment I do the same thing as you. I am going to be very active on Mylot today and I think that is a good way to avoid the negative thoughts about the things that happened in the past.

I am sorry if you feel bad today. I hope I could be there to give you a hug, a shoulder to cry on and lend an ear.
There are many things that hurt people. Relationships, injury, or any changes in ourlives. These changes the comfort zone in us. We may accept it or not, many of us dislike changes because it is something that we have to adapt again insated of just living the present life we have now.
We shouldn't forget whatever hurt us. We should learn from them. We should maturely accept the fact the lies with it. Usually things hurt because they are true. It hurt our pride. Ask yourself why were you hurt in the first place. Why does it hurt in your opinion?
When I was young, I deal with these hurt feelings like the one you're doing now, making myself busy. Deviating the pain to something else. But as I grow, I have learned to face it, deal with it, learn from it and accept it that it's painful.
I hope I was able to enlighten you with something here.

I cannot forget things which hurt. Instead of forgetting, it will be come back more forcibly into my mind, even if I try to forget it. However, we can temporarily be away from such things if we are involved in something else, but not able to remove it for ever if the intencity of the wound is so painful.

Yes, the 'time' has to power to it and it is still doing and that is why we are still laughing and living!

I think over what has happened and why. If I have questions/doubt I go ask questions. If set my goals, go on with my life, try to learn/take the life lesson given and use the experience. And during hard(er) times I keep myself busy in a creative way. Painting for example.

I try to leave time for my hobby in order to forget the pain. Thus i'll found that the day spent faster with my time being focused.I know life is not easy and we all go through pains. But it's only us who can decide whether make it be the past.Find your own way and have fun. Thanks for the topic and make me feel the life is good.

It's not easy to move on and force yourself to be okay in just a short period of time, but we are gifted with just one life, what we have, what you have, right now. We can't just waste it forever on grief, depression, frustrations and anything negative. What I do during these down times of my life, I read inspiring books from different people. These were real stories compiled by the author. Also, self help books, and feel good magazines. But most of all, Bible stories. I do pray a lot and talk to God like my best buddy, who is non-judgmental, understanding and will always be there for you. Hope you do the same and find it helpful. God bless!!!

Well doing something fun and creatives can ease your pain and tends to help forgetting those pain.
Hang out with friends also kinda help because something you will need someone you can trust to share the pain with.
Many peoples also love to goes doing their hobbies and watching movies or simply just going away for a bit to help return the mood.
