This is the best interest in which I love to talk but sadly we get only few responses for every discussion we start. In comparison to other topics, I get a handful of responses for every discussion. The population is healthy in this interest yet we get only 3-4 responses. Getting 10 responses is like attaining heaven in mylot. India are so crazy in cricket and we should show that here also and hence earn better from cricket topic only.

The simple answer to your question would have to very low population of cricket fans on myLot. Football being the popular sport in the world seems to be getting a cold shoulder on myLot, there's no surprise cricket is in a far worse state. You can still start discussions and interested people will surely respond.

There may be 2000 odd people listed as fans of cricket but we also need to realize that most of them aren't on myLot anymore. Take my case. I've come back to this site after a 4 year absence.
I do partially agree that some people may not be replying even though they read a discussion. I'd myself choose to respond to a football related discussion over cricket if I ever had to choose one.

The population in cricket is still good but these people are not active. Only about 100 are active and that's why no one is above level 11 in cricket. Reaching level 11 is so easy in other interest. Out of these 2000, 90% are indians and still we get less responses. That's strange, sometimes I feel people read discussion but doesn't reply.

Sometime I read a discussion and response and felt that my answer is already given by other fellow. So I refrain from giving a response. Sometime we feel that this discussion, we don't like to answer when some comparison is made between current and former great players.

He he.. Yes I can talk more on this topic is well.. But may be others are not interested.
Here people came from all over the world. So may be others are not interested if we talk about Indian cricket. So we don't get that much responses in compare of other common discussions.

Though the population is 2000, upto 150 are active here and that's why we get so many less responses. If all participate we can get handsome responses. India is a cricket crazy and yet we find many less responses. So many Indians are there on mylot..

:) I like the way you put it "So Many Less"... So what is it, So Many or So Less :) I think the general public here is pretty less other than the Indian crowd. I think there are a few Pakistan and Bangladesh supporters, but people from other countries are generally very less here. So that is why there are less responses for cricket.
Cheers!

Yes, but it has to be like that. Criket is not popular in Europe or America, so naturally we are not going to get people from there. But few Aussies and English people would be good on this group. It would be so fun in having discussion with Aussies fan for the current series. Have you see Tennis and Football group, they are nowhere near Cricket on mylot. So I am not that disheartened about this fact. Have a nice day.

I can tell that you come from India since cricket is quite popular in your country. However, cricket is not popular in my country. No more people learn more about this sports. It seems that cricket is not a very global sports and therefore this is why no more people who are interested in talking about it.

But these 2000 people are all India and if all these are active we can still garner a lot of responses. Only cricket is surviving on mylot as far as any sport is concerned. Though we get less responses but it's still far better than the Football which is a global sport. Inidan fans have beaten the the whole world fans of Football.

Well, I think it depends on what discussion one has started. In cricket, I have even seen upto 12-15 responses. I do not think there is any average figure which we can apply to discussions in this group.

But that is very rare...Average figure hovers near 5 only. It's so easy to get 10 responses in life and mylot interest. Sometimes the cricket discussion is on a particular day play and when that day gone, topic become outdated and no body want to write a response. So just in 18-24 hours are there to answer. That also a factor...

Its a combination of factors- the number of responses depends upon
- How many cricket followers are using Mylot on a particular day and at what time.
- How many matches and between what times are played when more cricket fans are using Mylot
- Mood of Mylot users
So, it is difficult to say that even if we have World Cup cricket matches going on, user responses would be high only. They still can be low, if less number of users login to Mylot that day.

To some extent its right. But we should be happy atleast cricket is surviving here on mylot. No other sport is on mylot card. Cricket still going very strong and I am happy with 4 to 5 responses rather than having none.

there are lots of crickets here in my backyard. At night, no one has the right to make a sound except them. My BF called them as Cricket Team i often ask him to listen to them when he is online. The crickets are very popular here, they cooked them as sweet and crispy and super spicy. They come in different sizes, there are small, medium and large. Don't ever wish to eat the large ones because they looked like cockroaches already.
Hmmm... ohhh sorry , I think you meant cricket sports... sorry sorry about that. I thought you refer to cricket insects.
I don't know anything about the sports though.. pardon my ignorance.

So you belong to thailand, and I think you are answering this discussion as a guest. The cricket was not in your interest roster. Yes except 8 playing nations no other nation know anything about cricket. But if you have a chance to travel India, you would see the craze about cricket. Such craze you will never see again in your life even for Football. Cricket has become a religion here....But see the irony, we still get less response under this topic.

To an American, a cricket is a little chirping insect.
Well, but seriously, I am kind of surprised, with the Indian population on here, that you don't get more responses.

But how do you get to this discussion if you are an American. That's the irony, we have huge population on mylot, India is a cricket crazy nation and yet we get so less responses. I think very less people enjoy mylotting and so many of them leave mylot after receiving their first pay out because it took them nearly four month to reach that figure.

Cricket is mostly played in the U.K. and countries that were former colonies. It is not played hardly anywhere else.

Cricket has quite good population and we can easily get 4-5 responses in every discussion but if we get upto 15 responses than I would just take participate in cricket and nothing else on mylot and still earns a lot of money from here. But unfortunately that will not happen. We should take participation in other discussion with great interest.

Yeah,I too know this topic only that is why am active here. In fact when I joined in Mylot Cricket was the only interest in which I used to start a comment and respond to a discussion. Later only I started to branch to other interests. And of coure you are right that getting 10 responses in mylot is about reaching heaven .

The main reason i think, People lost interest from cricket. first reason is Indian team performance has not been satisfactory and as expected after WC 2011,Nowadays very less numbers of interesting matches are played between two level teams and Third dangerous reason is most of people gone towards only T20 matches other than ODIs & TESTS, New generation specially age of 15 to 25 only interested in T20s. New generation are least interested in Tests they are completely unaware from Tests and they like to watch only drama like matches of IPL so it is organized in vacations.

Well I think it's just the audiences. I do have my own interest that I shared but looks like mostly here does not share the same main interest as such so well I start to think that it might be wise to share my other interests rather than forcing to post those type.
Since I'm new I also haven't found a way to re-used the un-answered discussion. Do we just closed them or just letting them just like that?
