The only diet I've ever had success with is a low carb/low fat diet. Then I heard how the diabetic diet is the best diet in the world to stay slim with. Which of course makes sense as it's low in sugars/carbs. If I was twenty years old I might risk not counting the fat grams when I diet, but I'm in my 50's so I have to be more conservative and careful. - Here is my favorite meal to fix for myself: Ground turkey, lean, 4 ounces, cooked without oil, and cubed one onion-cut up into strips, nuked 3 minutes then add two teaspoons sweet mustard and stir or two tablespoons avocado or guacamole stir all together. --Here are the values of this dish with ~ calories-total fat/saturated fat-carbs ~ - I list these throughout the day or cheating it will be for me! ~ 320-9/3-9 ~ (I don't count the fats of the avocado as it's considered the good kind which reduces cholesterol, I think. I heard avocado is good for weight loss). If I follow this with a square of dark chocolate, I will add 60-4/2-5 bringing my total to 389 calories and 14 carbs. An adult woman's recommended diet guideline is about 300 carbs a day and about 2000 calories. So three meals of about 500 calories is a good guide. Though it's good to save some calories or dessert for a snack. - I've learned: - if I don't stay up late, I don't get the late night munchies. - one step walking with some energy, is equivalent to about one calorie and 3500 calories equals a pound. (I made a path around our lot which is good for walking, some of it power walking.) - if I take a day off perhaps even once a week, I stick to the diet longer. - some yoga type stretches in the morning or off and on, helps keep me centered and on track, as does a.m. morning quietude.. - lots of water 20 minutes or so before a meal so I make sure to have all the water needed to flush calories - freeze my dark chocolate squares which makes them last twice as long with more chewing, so I fool myself into thinking I've eaten more (tricking myself is the whoLe trip!) - having a 1/4 or 1/2 serving of low carb diet health shake in a wine or champagne glass for dessert makes me feel pampered and eat less, I may add a nutra sweet (1/4 or 1/2 depending on the mix and size of serving recommended) - if I want salt for something, which I love, I use "no salt" which I switched to years ago Here's my favorite low calorie, low everything, dessert: 1/2 c nonfat cottage cheese 2 or 3 nutra sweet packs 2 (approx) tablespoons lite or fat free whipped topping and as much diet jello (made thick) as I want and, or a couple of slices of fruit chopped or sliced small or a table spoon or so of applesauce or a tsp of oj concentrate. My favorite snack: mixed in a bag - a 16 oz bag of walnuts, large chop and a half bag (6 oz.) semi sweet chocolate chips, shake it all up before each serving. A 1/2 cup serving is 240-5/2-11 (250 cal 5/2 fats and 11 carbs). It takes a while to munch and satisfies that munchy urge. Some other meals are an egg white spinach and fresh mushroom omelette topped with a serving of grated cheese.. the serving on the package nutritional info. Stuffed pepper, whole, sliced into half and filled with lo fat meat, egg white and spinach or other vegetable.. peas are the highest vegetable as far as carbs. fajitas on low carb tortilla shells - 2 tacos without the shell, with extra veggies, especially lettuce (15 calories a cup!) made with low fat meat, or ground turkey, lean salads with low to no fat dressing, 2 tablespoons with some deli meat sliced or a serving of grated cheese or serving sliced chicken breast or turkey ham cubed (these last two especially if the salad is the whole meal, makes for a very yummy salad!) chicken breast baked with paprika, with my onion (above) and sweet mustard 2 lite string cheese snack warmed slightly in the microwave (11 seconds) How about you, do you have any diet tips for me? (I'm always on the look out for them.)

Try the Bible. The first chapter of Daniel is a good example of why God's good food bad food list is a good example of a healthy diet.
