Hello Kenshin I hope that you are fine. I think college can teach you all academic issues, but not life issues.
I´m very happy to read your post because my hubbie and I graduated 18 years ago with honors, but we faced together life roughness and we used to talk about college preparation.
And we agreed that in college you´ll never get wisdom classes. Wisdom is the art of living life with all the roughness and challenges.
When you go to college you take academic preparation to have knowledges. And if you are a bit wise and intelligent you expand your mind to look for wisdom by yourself in the best case.
Blessings Kenshin... dainy

Yes I suppose your right college does not really prepare us for the rigors of everyday life in the real world when it comes to job, business or, family. When I went into business myself for the first time one of my first customers wished me good and said that was great. He said he went college four years for business but really did not learn a thing until he got into the field, and thought college was a waste of time.

Well you can start like this. If you had Lego toys you could always use the building block to build something right?
To put it simply that's what college are for. You are being prepared that way. Those school days and college days are the building block of your self so that you could use it to developed further as needed.
Many will feel that their college does not helping them preparing what they will face at work. But that's not 100% true. While you might as well found that at work you might use just a small portion of what you learned in college but the years spent on building your character in college is needed. Because if you looks carefully you will certainly be able to distinguish peoples who came from scholar based and peoples who just had hands-on experience in field.
So if you want a guarantee while doing your college you should also try to find and learn some practical skill which can be used to support your academic values.
