How your kids turn out as they approach adulthood is in a large part attributed to your parenting style that had helped to shape their characters. The other day i overheard a remark that intrigued me about success as a parent . How you know that you have been a successful parent or not , is when your children actually leave to lead their own lifes or maybe go study in a foreign land away from parents. As long as the son or daughter still lives with parents , their true nature will be in check but as soon as they really have a sense of true freedom and there is no need to worry whether parents will approve is when they are out on their own or have moved away from the secure confines of the nest. This is where the true test of the parenting skill will come into play..if the upbringing of the child has instilled values by their parents that they will live by and apply in their lives regardless of where they are reflect back on their formative years and the parenting they were exposed to. Little saints can transform into demons as soon as they taste a bit of freedom but at the same time kids who sincerely love and honor their folks who raised them well with love and care and balanced guidance will carry that nature onwards into adulthood. Children are indeed shaped into what they will become by the type of parenting as they grew up..Very strict parenting does not always translate into a very disciplined young adult, some start rebelling when they have a chance far away from very strict da or mom or too much pampering attention can result in a spoilt brat who may very well behaved likewise away from their parents. many successful and well liked individuals with great integrity and respect credit their parents for raising them that way.
