Experts says our body needs 6-8 hours of sleep a day but i dont know if it can be also good if you have broken sleeping habits. I think you should adjust your body clock to your desired activity.

6-8 hours of sleep a day is enough. Insomnia is bad, i think you have to consult an expert to figure out what's keeping you awake at night. as early as possible, you have to get rid of it because it may lead you to some serious illnesses.

I have heard that different people have different needs as hours of sleep go. It must depend on their metabolism and in the quality of their sleep. If you feel tired or worried, maybe you are not getting the kind of sleep that you need.

Base on r esearch the best hours of sleep is from 6-8 hours but most of us can not do that because of our line of job etc... Well in my case I can only sleep fo 3-4 hours at night so what I do is... during my free time I make sure that I can get some naps,,,, in the afternoon to regain my strenght.

I think that it's not about how long the sleep it should be. It's more about how the sleep quality is. Some peoples likes me tend to sleep less. But I keep my sleep schedule regularly. Our body will mark the schedule automatically so rather than forcing on how many hours you should sleep you must rather focusing to better the sleep quality it self. Having sleep deprived actually will affect your mood and if you haven't got good sleep enough you might get wear out easily during activities in your daily life.

Lack of Sleep - Sleep deprivation or lack of sleep has several negatives in the effects of the mind and body.
I make sure I get at least six to eight hours of sleep. There have been a lot of diseases that sprout out of lack of sleep. Not only will your body deteriorate, the stress level also gets high. So it will be very dangerous at the long run if you don't get enough sleep. I think you have insomnia. It is a sleeping problem. I had one too before. I went to the doctor and she recommended me to take me some medicine to induce sleep. After a week or two I could sleep at a regular pace. The medicine helped me to train my body to sleep at a certain time so I could get enough sleep. I recommend you go seek help from a doctor before things get worse for you. Here is an article of some effects of self deprivation. http://www.webmd.com/sleep-disorders/excessive-sleepiness-10/10-results-sleep-loss

An adult needs less sleep than a child because they are already grown. You should get at least 8 hours of sleep, you do need to recharge your body. Staying up too late will cause you to regret it the next day. You cannot make up sleep, you either get it or you don't. Maybe you need to change your sleeping habits. Go to be earlier, make your bedroom a cave so you can sleep soundly.

My husband only needs six hours a night sleep me I need at least 8hours to feel ok.Everybody needs different amounts of sleep there is no correct time to sleep.Although if you cannot sleep and want to it is a pain. When I went through a time of not sleeping I got out of bed and did the laundry ,ironing ect.You could read a book or do more physical exercise during the day.Have you got worries that keep you awake ? I do feel for you but don't worry to much it should pass if it does not go to the doctors.Don't play electronic games for at least an hour before you go to bed.Drink a milky drink and relax your mind after a while you should sleep.I hope things return to normal for you soon.

I have insomnia too but I can get in a day with 4 hours of deep sleep with some dreams. I guess 6 hours is enough. Have a warm bath before going to bed and make sure your bed and pillows are always fresh. Turn off the light and turn the electric fan. You can also listen to soothing music or nature sounds.

For adults(18 and above) would be 8 hours, I think.. But someone like me probably won't even get to sleep for 8 hours sometimes because of work.

I learned when I was still studying that the best range of sleep is about eight to ten hours and the best sleeping time is from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. My work is from 12:00 noon to 9:00 pm so I am not been able to follow that best sleeping time but still I can consume my eight hours of sleep. Sill happy for that. But sometimes, I did not enjoy the whole day because I woke up very late.

it is way back then that experts says that we really need 8hours a day to sleep so we can boost our body to act full on every activities we have everyday. But changing people lifestyle prohibits that certain hours for us to stay asleep. I myself sleeps 5-6 hours every night, i am sleeping late at night and i have to be awake early at early sunrise. Insomia is serious because it leads to functional ailment of your system. lacking of sleep or staying awake can lead you to get irritable on every work you do at daytime, which can really affect your work outputs. It can also lead to heart and blood problems as staying awake for a period of time without recharging affect the said. It is also one of the main factors of acne break outs on our face. Stress and lazyness are next when you cannot sleep.

If you are on those bad days , really tired and everything I recommend 9h , so you really get a full rest. Between 7-8 ours should be enough for an adult, but you tweek yourself, everyone is different.

That greatly depends on the quality of your life you are leading . However, for adults the sound sleep of seven hours is minimum and quite mandatory to lead the other seventeen hours well. And one more thing which I read in biology chapter about the sleep is that just a half an hour of sleep at afternoon can have significant positive results on health(although I don't remember which are those positive results).

it is normal that once in a while we cant get enough sleep with various reasons.. what is important is that we make it up.. the amount of sleep people needed will depend on the age of a person.. for adults its 7-9 hours..

I will say 6 to 7 hours is the minimum sleep you should get everyday for the healthy body and the sound mind. Lack of sleep may result in symptoms of depression and it also affects your memory power. And there are many other health problems which arises due to lack of proper sleep.

For the adult, it should be 6-8 hours per day and for me, i think i need 8 hours, 7 hours for night and 1 hour for a nap in the aftertoon. I think taking a nap in the afternoon is very important because it can energize yourself ater lunch and become more efficient at work. But for the baby, it needs much more sleeping hours

Well. that's a good topic to exchange words to. Since late last year, i was having a hard time sleeping until a month ago. But when I start eating fruits everyday and refrain myself from too much thinking, I eventually had my good night of sleep back. Ive searched it said 6-8 hours will do, but i think it's how sound of sleep do you get rather than quantity of hours. And little naps here and there helps alot too refreshing your mind and quick thinking...Well the best advice I could give is don't worry yourself NOR force yourself to sleep, let the nature take its course, like try reading books, specially topics that BORE you, sure you get sleepy.. :)

I think the answer is 6 to 8 hours.8 is ultimate. You can function on four hours too but you won't have good concentration or reactions. It's dangerous if you have to drive your car around or you work with machines
