When I was young I had three opportunities to see film shoots. Once was during an excursion to Mysore. The other two were in two hill stations, Ooty and Kodaikanal.I was so excited; it was during our summer vacation in school and we had lots of stories to share with friends. But it is more than thirty five years since I saw one again. Strangely, after I drafted this topic and ran out of internet connection yesterday, there was a film shooting in the premises adjacent to our building. But I did not see it . Have you seen the shoot of any film?

Hello Kalav. I have seen movies in the making, in the center of Bucharest, Romania as they were getting ready to film near a construction site - that was actually sad, because it will be yet another time when they show Romania as a 4th world country because they only filmed buildings in ruing that are in construction mode rather then film anything new. I have also found another encounter funny - I had just been at a bar on one of the streets, and then I saw a movie just a couple of months after that where Steven Segal was blasting a car through it's outside area, destroying it :).

Your second experience must have been quite exciting. You would have recognized the bar and it would have looked really familiar.

I am always having a serious curiosity to see some film get shooted in front of myself. I have heard from many of my friends that when u see actual movie making thats cool enough to enjoy as you see the ready made film on your t.v. computer or cell phone. Still I cant forget ever to see the movie in cinema on big screen. Its really giving me pleasure to feel as I am already there while the film shooting is being taken place and I am watching all acts and scenes in front of me.

Many times I have. As I lived in las vegas nevada usa. I saw many series and movies filmed there. I once saw a jackie chan movie filmed outside the casino where I worked at. Was really neat to see all the actors around.

wellllll.... I was part of a crowd scene in Varsity Blue http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0139699/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varsity_Blues_(film) I was wandering around on the exterior set (read the streets of Austin) during one night of filming of Heartbreak Hotel. They were filming mostly outside the hotel where we were having a science fiction convention inside. I was wandering around the street in my science fiction convention costume when I turned around and almost collided into the actor playing Elvis. I have never seen either of these movies. However, they filmed Outlaw Blues in Austin and while I didn't see them do it, I knew a lot of the places they filmed at. At one point in the theater I actually said aloud: "You can't get there from there!" Happily, it was a mostly empty theater! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlaw_Blues

I have been at few shooting spots of films. Although we get a chance to see celebrities, I never enjoy watching it. It is a sure a boring experience unless if we get a chance to see the scenes being shot with advance technologies.

Obviously the occasion has been a frequent one and that is why you don't find anything charming in it.I suppose, after the initial novelty aspect is over, it becomes quite mundane.

I remember there's was one movie that was shot in the hotel where I worked. It was a scene is a cafe and the team involved some volunteers from the staff... I don't think there's something special, I left before the filming ended... I was never a fan of celebrities, I am still. I am attracted more to their music or the movie story, not the stars.

I watch celebrities and their talk shows also on television, especially in my regional language. But music holds a special place in my heart too.

Yes, I've seen a lot of shootings when I was still in elementary. I forgot the title, because it's a long time ago. Nice to watch shootings and you'll be able your favorite star in person.

WOW...Kalav, have you been peeking into my little Island? It is quite a common-place scenario, here everyday, for the warm 6 months of Spring/Summer/Fall! On this little rock that I live on, our claim to fame is; Gulf Islands Film/Television School. For reference only: www.giftsfilms.ca, and if that doesn't work try; www.giftsfilms.com and you will see that we have a highly accredited and awarded Film School here on the Island. So seeing film shoots are a common occurence, and you will never know when you will be asked to be an exta!

Post a picture of the little rock you live on Pergammano! It sounds so unusual for us in this concrete jungle.I visited the site and realised it is pretty exciting to stay on the island. But, anything when easily accessible becomes a commonplace thing for you.[like how we stay right behind a huge mall and go to the mall for vegetables]It would be rare for the others.

My friends and I were going through Baltimore a few years back and all the roads were blocked and the traffic was funneled into one lane. We asked what was going on and the guy told us that they were shooting for The Wire. I never seen any of the actors. For all I know, he was lying and it was just a car wreck. But the series was filmed on location there. We were all looking around to see if we could spot any of the actors. But no. I've never witnessed a movie being filmed before. But I have met some famous people. Not like talked or anything, but seen. It was cooler when I was younger. Now I don't care too much about it. I was in the store with Allen Iverson in Sterling, VA in '98. I saw the Undertaker, Ravishing Rick Rude, and I was pushed in the chest by the Iron Sheik at a high school wrestling match. And when I was just a young kid, my dad and I were standing in the concession line at Bull Run, and some man came up behind him. My dad started talking to him and they were having a pleasant how-do-you-do chat. It was Waylon Jennings, just walking through the line like a normal guy, getting something to drink. That's the one that stands out as significant. Most other famous people would have a dressing room and caterers.

When I was 13, I saw the shoot of a TV movie. The movie was being shot in Washington DC. My family and I were also extras in the movie. We had a wonderful time.

The last which we saw was Khalnayak as we were touring Rajasthan those days. Though none of my favorites were on those flicks, I had not much of interest but my siblings were quite excited and pulled me along. Today, I stay adjacent to a posh bungalow which normally is a great place for those local movie makers. Many dance sequences, a couple of family drama scenes keep happening here. But as I have zero interest in these local craps, I have never been there to watch. My landlady at the start tried to take me with her (she is aged 86) but still, I could not find any interest. And trust me, I felt quite bored seeing those retakes of scenes and the delays when I was an enthusiast. What we see on the screen is much better.

Oh! It must have bee quite interesting to watch celebrities and scenes; however, it gets monotonous when there are repetitive takes.

I have seen the latest installment of the Bourne Identity being shoot in Manila. It was a warm day and lots of people are trying to catch glimpses of the stars. I did see Rachel Welsz from afar. My husband and I are just driving through when we made this wrong turn as they closed some streets for the shooting. Before we were directed to turn around, we managed to see a bit of what's going on.

I had the opportunity to see a film shooting only once in a life and at that time I was too young and even did not that film I see on television is shooted outside the real world!! LOL!! I have seen film shooting in one of the famous hill stations of south India - Mahabaleshwar. And even though I do not remember anything , I do have a photo captured with my family and good Bollywood actor Dhara Singh. Good for you , i'd love to witness and personally see famous artists too on taping, not that crazy to see them though, but still. I have had the opportunity to watch a taping once, and it never happened again. But I wouldn't do extra effort to go to places just to see stars filming, NO. But if they happen to shoot where Im in, then that's a good way to spend my day to have a peek. :)
