I have heard so many quote things that were posted on Twitter so I wonder if it is worth joining or is it a waste of time. I opened a facebook account but ony 'friended' my immediate family.
I could just join Twitter and leave if it's annoying, I suppose, but I'd love to hear what others experience has been on Twitter...TY in advancei

Hi stary1, I don't have any idea how to have fun in twitter since I have been member there for a couple of year. It's weird as I wonder why we should we have to be followers of someone we then could read content related Notification always sent to me to visit the site if I haven't login that site for some days. may be I have to pay some time to explore the site to see how it actually work.
Happy posting

Yes, I couldn't uderstand the following thing either unless it was like a fan club or something. I have never been part of any fan clubs.
LOL on the notifications...Facebook does that and what almost drives me nuts is the constant..'do you know so and so" and I only have a few people designaed as friends...only close family and yet I keep getting the notficatins...lol

If you have almost round the clock access to the internet and want first hand speedy news about any event in the world, I'd say Twitter is what you're looking for. Over the years, Twitter has become the quickest form of social media, even faster than Facebook. Although not all information posted by people on Twitter is authentic, if you use it long enough, you'll easily be able to weed out untrue from the true. In an case, Twitter is surely worth a shot. After all, there's no harm even if you don't think its worth it.

I'm glad you liked what I said. Hopefully, you'll like Twitter enough not to end up cursing me. Just kidding.

Hi stary!
One of the good things about twitter is that I can share my articles on it for views. I don't know anybody personally on the site but I am thankful to have it.
Have a great day!

Where do you write? I am on Helium and what used to be associated content, now it's Yahoo..
In the past we could write and put the same articles on both..now there are exclusivity clauses so I cut back but I need to start up again.
I have only a few article and need to build those up.

It helps especially if you have more followers. I am getting views from sharing my articles on twitter.

Twitter is really a good site to join with. You can keep in touch with your friends and famous persons using twitter. Also you can make money from your twitter account. Surely twitter account is worth to open.

I do have a Twitter account but rarely do much with it. I have the app on my phone so am more inclined to look at it if I'm waiting around or on a bus/train and need something to occupy my time. I follow lots of famous and not so famous people on it and now and then see the odd interesting thing, but I'm not on it often enough to get the latest gossip or anything like that. I rarely tweet though but now and then I'll come out with some random comment
Overall I think Twitter is ok but I think you probably have to spend a fair bit of time on it to get anything meaningful from it.

In truth I just couldn't get my head around it, I did sign up but it was short-lived, I gave up in the end and never bothered with it, I think I deleted my account in the end or it got lost in cyberspace. It works for some, but not for me.

For me personally I don't like twitter, sometimes the post there are just nonsense, except when there is an important news or announcement, but everything is just a bunch of nonsense. Also if there are small misunderstandings, it'll be like a war in there with all back and forth tweets.

Hi there! Interesting covo. Hmm As for joining twitter and using twitter, it depends on how you want to use it. I rarely go much on twitter but sometimes I'm active and not active there and do post. I just use it for social networking and professional for job stuff. Also on twitter, if you are interested in reading tweets or especially celebrities, then it could be worth joining. Otherwise if you don't think its worth joining, then don't join. Or you can try out twitter since it's free and then if you don't like it, you can just deactivate your account and probably reactivate it back if you want.

Seems to me one would have to sit for a long time and watch the converstaion if they wanted to participate in a discussion/converstion? If you leave for awhile wouldn't the converstion 'leave you behind'...I hardly ever stay on one board very long..I like to check out a lot of sites all the time.

I have a twitter account. But I am not really active on that. I have the twitter apps on my phone so I can open it every day and read quotes posted by others. That is just the reason why I have twitter.
It's actually all up to you how or where you;re gonna use twitter. If it's to get quotes then yes you can get from there - but you can also read that somewhere in the Internet. If you're reason is be updated on celebrities and news then you can do that there. Sometimes you can see it there first before seeing news or gossips on TV.

I have been using Twitter for years, I have 4000 or so followers.
I have a love hate relationship with it.
It is fantastic for promotion of links and sites. It is also good for conversing about current events as they happen.
I use it to talk about football(soccer) as the games happen.
The bad thing about it is the idiots that follow Justin Bieber and believe that it belongs to them.
Each to their own - try it and join in with the trends.
If you do join, forward me your username and I will follow you

TY it makes sense it could be used for promos..
and TY for offering to follow me..I think lol jk...
I only understand a little about the followings as I have heard people bragging about how many followers they have..what is the advantage to having followers?

Your comments get seen by more people.
More followers mean that more see your promotions

Twitter is a good place to get information you want to know. In twitter you could make your account private so no one could just follow you instantly. Also, you could choose whom to follow so you could just follow the accounts that you want get information from. And twitter is always updated with the latest news and trend. So you won't really get lag behind. So I recommend you use twitter. Not only to connect with friends but to provide yourself the latest info out there.

hi lloydbelleza
So it's a lot like facebook? I worry that what individul peole post is often a misinterpretation of what is real..like someone said a post on Twitter claimed the Pope was a Nazi and that of course is a total misrepresenation of the facts..

Hello stary,
If you don't want specific actors or other famous people to follow on tweeter, then you might as well stay here, on mylot, as the new type of forum will turn to a social network, not unlike tweeter.
Hope this helps and I think you have realized this as well.
Have a great day
