I've been working overseas for almost 14 months and this was my first work abroad. For this entire period of time, what I can say is I am really experiencing work burn out causing me to hate my job too. Some times, quitting or resigning comes to my mind to be one of my options.
This started when I and one of my work mates had misunderstanding, and from then, gaps had started. I really want to leave my job but it's not easy to do for several reasons such as having no line up job, no enough savings and remittance for the family needs, etc.
Everyday I came to office, I get easily distracted by other people who keeps on talking and talking using skype, considering it's office hours. It's just happened that our manager is not staying in office, he trusted only all his employees is working during office hours.
For this situation, my passion for working and interest is starting to fade. The only reason I am staying is the good compensation. But the work place, people around me is really annoying me except my manager who keeps on convincing me not to leave, but for me, being away from my work place, office mate will be the best thing to do.
My situation now brings me stress and concerns for my health.
How about you guys, what do you do for this same situation? Thanks in advance.

I think just concentrate on your work, I've been in your situation before, I mean everyone is just so rude. Like they like talking behind your back when you actually are working so hard, they just seem to think you are not good enough. I mean I hated my job before, but I just try to just block them out. Keep on staying positive, just block them all out and concentrate on your work, save enough money, or while your working there, find another job and just don't tell anyone about it. Then you can resign if you can find another job.

Thank you. Yes, you're right, and they make it as their past time, gossiping about you. I'm just concern that all my positive thought, passion to work will be gone forever. lol Hoping to find a good job next time by which I will enjoy it and maybe take it as a lesson too.

Ahh yes work burn out, something that I deal with frequently yet I like you don't have a real solution for. I work two jobs and get around sixty hours a week at these two different restaurants. On the weekends I always work doubles and usually put in about twelve hour days at least. Both jobs are stressful for different reasons and I try to just enjoy the time off that I have by relaxing.
I stay focused on my work though because of what it is that I am working for. I'm trying to save up as much money as possible so that I can move to Washington and continue my education. I'm going to be working on my bachelor's degree and once I complete that I shouldn't have to work at as stressful jobs for such bad wages anymore. I won't have to work sixty hours a week just to earn a little over eight hundred every two-weeks. I just try to use what I'm working for as a motivator to keep me going and it usually works pretty well.

There has only been one time in my life that I experienced burn out with the job that I had at the time. When I started to feel that way, I did continue to work at that particular job, but at the same time I started actively trying to find another job. It was only after I found replacement employment that I quit the job that I had been working at the time. However, I definitely do have to tell you that I couldn't begin to find another job quick enough because I'd gotten to the point that I really did hate the job that I had.

You can alleviate the feeling on your work by trying to focus on just you and your work. Pay no mind to those around, they will only make you feel bad about your job. Also, count the blessings that you have received and the good things that has happened to you once you got that job (things you were able to buy, money you were able to share with your family, places you have been, etc). The mere fact that you have a job right now means you are practically better than half the planet's population. And the very fact that you are working abroad means you are living what most people back home dreams of. If you are receiving you pay on time, then you are way, way luckier than some other OFW's who doesn't even get their pay at all.
