I am reading Haruki Murakami at the moment and I found myself torn between thinking or just let it be and simply be transported to the world of its dynamic characters. I had no internet connection last night, so I just kept on reading. The charcters are so interesting. I was laughing a lot the author's natural humor. It was my first time to read a book written by him so I don't really know if he was just putting in some hillarious ice breaker to this already heavy piece or it is just the way he writes. It is entitled, "Kafka on the Shore". I don`t know if his writing style is also called magic realism like that of Gabriel Garcia Marquez, another one of my favorites. If so, then Garcia is more of the poetic and passionate type while Murakami is the more pedestrian in his language and full of wits.

I borrowed this book from my bestfriend. I found the friendship in the book very touching. Also, it is like a road trip book so you get to enjoy the places in and food of Japan. But most memorable of all, for me that is, this book saved my leg from being bitten by our neighbour's dog. Good thing I bring a book with me everywhere. I had to throw it at the dog and I returned it with many creases.

The human relationship in this book has so many levels. The friendship here has so many layers, it was very well thought about by the author. It is funny how you still had to return the book after it got scratches and all.A book is still a book as long as the text is still readable.:)

Well I was embarrassed to return the book to her with all the scratches and creases. But she convinced me that it would be an honor for her to keep the book that saved my leg from being bitten by the dog. I got to keep my pants with the hole made by the dog's teeth.

Yeah, you are right! I sometimes would think about how the past generations survived without mobile phones and internet for entertainment. Now, that I feel paralyzed without my intenet connection, then I just read. I was really transported into another world with no distractions at all. I am now in an internet shop near my place though. It really is impossible not to be in the virtual world. Emails from work and friends in social networks are very important as well for my own sanity!:)
