I have a large collection of movies. I'm getting sick of watching the Disney ones with my daughter over and over again. She is 9 and I need some suggestions of other movies that are not the animated Disney ones for her age. Help.

I don't have kids but i have a 9 yr old niece and some of the movies she likes are The Wizard Of Oz Bridge to Terabithia i think Casper with Christina Ricci in it from 1995 the movie Up Paranorman Wreck It Ralph. Any harry Potter movie. My niece has seen them all and she is only 9. Do you own the moves Cars and Cars 2? Diary Of A Wimpy Kid i heard is a good kid movie tho i have never seen it. Any Charlie Brown movie is good or Bugs Bunny movie. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or Mary Poppins. Never Ending Story. The Dark Crystal. How about these movies Antz and a Bug's Life? Have you ever heard of the movie El Dorado? Good one for a 9 yr old.The Muppet Movie Great Muppett Caper or the Muppets with Amy Adams and Jason Segiel from 2011. Hope this helps in anyway and that you do pick and watch some of these and enjoy.

Disney's movies are really good! My son loves to watch Looney Tunes, Warner Brothers and Pixar too. Perhaps you may check around and I believe you sure can find a wonderful movie that you and your family like. Despicable Me from Universal Pictures is fun to watch too. They will soon have its sequel.

Some older ones I can think of that are quite enjoyable: The Last Unicorn Labyrinth Never Ending Story (There's 3 but they went from Good to bad) Black Beauty The Dark Crystal Newer ones I can think of: Dispicable Me 1&2 The tale of Desperaudo Harry Potter series (Though likely you'd want to watch these with her, as some of the latter ones are older) Babe Spirtied Away (Watch this one as it's originally from Japan, you'd likely want it dubed not sub tilted for kids)

I like introducing the kids to movies I liked at that age.. like The Labyrinth which was one of my faves growing up. Or even movies meant for adults as long as they're not rated R. My daughter once sat down and watched An Affair To Remember with me.

Now I don't know if you want something else not Disney or something else not animated movies - you would have to be a little more precise on this. If the problem is repeating Disney movies here are a few tittles by others that are animated and should be okay to watch with her: Ice Age (there are 4 movies, just use imdb for all i mention), Madagascar - 3 movies and television series (she should enjoy these as well), How to train your dragon (1 movie, 2 shorts). Enjoy !

Is it just cartoon movies that you are looking for or the regular ones that are made for kids?? If its the cartoon movies, then she might like the Pink Panther series, they are French videos. As for the regular movies, she would like to watch all of the Beethoven movies, (Beethoven is a cute, naughty and clumsy St. Bernard dog) Most kids are very much in love with these. The Home Alone movies are good too. Other movies that she may like is Nim's Island, about a girl living on an uninhabited island, its a nice movie.

Does Pixar count as Disney? If not, they've done some great movies (Toy Story, Wall-E, Up) that adults can enjoy as well as children (I love them!). I think the Toy Story movies, especially the first two, are great for 9-year-olds. Or, if you need something more recent, Brave is fun, especially for young girls.

This reminds me when my sons were small. They used to watch those movies with a smart clever dog named "Buddy" who can play all kinds of sports. The dog plays basketball, football, volleyball, and baseball. We enjoyed watching each movie over and over again. But I don't know how your daughter would feel about those.

Well I does not really know about your preference but from what I see some of Nickelodeon animated movies are quite good. Of course if you're like me who loves any shows even though it's not in my first language I will still pursue them. There's a good example of movies from the Japanese folk out there worth checking especially from Studio Ghibly if you look for movies for children. There's also good French animated movies out there but it will be hard to acquire.
