The president's dog trainer- $102,000 plus perks. Highly trained Navy Seal-$50,000 approx. I say we raise the pay of our Navy Seals...and fire the pres's dog trainer. And while we're at it, how about all the 'assisstants' and the designer dresses Mrs. Obama has? Can we talk about the vacations too? How about the two daughters being paid as government employees so they could go to Spain with the First Lady? What do you think?

Was it really any different when crazy Bush was running the country?

Bush was a spending nut too. So now that I know something's okay now and should be tolerated as long as someone else did it in the past, that frees up my conscience to get me some cheap labor. Springtime is coming and I need some grass planted, my house cleaned and my bike fixed. Know of any slave auctions near you where I can buy me a blacky to do my work?

http://www.inquisitr.com/345745/taxpayers-fronted-1-4-billion-for-president-obamas-comforts-last-year-according-to-new-book/ The Bush family stayed at THEIR ranch for the most part. I don't recall Laura going anywhere on her own, vacation wise. I'd say almost 1.5 BILLION is a lot to spend on their extravagance. I posted a link in Mike's thread that shows it cost us American tax payers over 20Xs what is spent on the entire ROYAL family. All this when we are experiencing record unemployment, the biggest DROP in median income in a generation, and HUGE tax increases on the middle and lower classes. And MIke, you took the time to look up his salary, please don't tell me $1.4 BILLION was paid out of the Obama's pocket!

I forgot to mention when listing the economic woes of the American citizens, we are now being told planes won't fly and civilian workers for the military will be furloughed, as I mentioned up in Mike's thread, Obama's golf trip with Tiger would have paid the salaries of over 300 of those workers.

Great comparison! I think that right there points out something so reprehensible. I say we switch pay from soldiers to congress and vice versa

Anyone can balance a budget. ANYONE. Even a person who is not educated. MY grandson who is four, he knows if he has five pieces of candy, he can only give away four IF he wants one for himself. IT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.

They (Congress) over the years have 'slipped' in so many perks for themselves and so many 'protections'.... Like the insider trading thing, they could NOT be prosecuted!!! Can you imagine?

Money can be spend in a much better way I think.

Part of the problem is that we labour under the misapprehension that to get the best people you must pay the highest wages and this is false. Paying high wages attracts not the best but the greediest of people. all the best, urban

Often true. But not always true.

After all, he may have been a VERY GOOD dog trainer. But I think his wages were dependent upon Obama's need to feel important.

Wait!!! Michelle Obama buys designer dresses!!! She looks like she buys her clothes off the rack at Walmart. You'd think if you're going to pay that much for a dress you'd try it on first.

Yeah, that's bad enough but what really frosts me is his jetting all over the country, endlessly campaigning, on MY DIME!!! He's so busy traveling and partying that there is no time to govern. In fact, he refuses to govern. Nothing can stick to him because he is not and refuses to do his job, will not make any decisions on his own and will not even approve giving himself more authority to decide which budget cuts to make--that would mean taking responsibility and someone could blame him instead of Congress for something. I resent their jet-set lifestyle ON MY DIME and I resent his seemingly constant travel and absence from Washington. They behave like royalty but hey, Valerie Jarret did say after the 2008 election that they were "ready to rule from day one". They think they are king and queen and we are their serfs.

you've voiced what about half the country is feelling. It might help if he would lead, if he was making some progress towards prosperity for all. But he's not and he's not for just the reasons you stated. His ego is ruling him and by extension, us. I've read some psychiatrists who say out right, that he is a narcissist. Not a good thing if you want to keep a Constitutional Republic and government By and For the PEOPLE. Valerie also said; payback after the 2012 election. Those who were for us will be rewarded, those who were against us will get 'paid back'.

Same things happen here in Mexico. The first ladys hair dresser is paid 100,000 a year. Omg how many times can she cut her hair??

Oh. Well. Let's not talk about that! For some strange reason this family can do no wrong. Why should they tighten their belt (with the taxpayer's money)? Yes I think the founders of this nation would shudder over aLL this.

I have absolutely no problem with him or anyone else paying a dog trainer $100,000 or more, although I admit that it does seem to be an absurdly excessive amount of money for a dog trainer. Similarly, I have absolutely no problem with Mrs. Obama buying designer dresses or taking vacations or whatever else she so chooses to spend their money on ... they have a right to do that just as anyone else does. However, these things should be completely paid for out of their own pockets ... with the possible exception of security when they travel and whatever other safety measures are necessary.

Wow! That's the kind of government job I need. I'll take it to pee and poop and teach it to sit and stay for $102 grand. Here boy! Our military needs to revolt and have a revolution. Maybe we should hire personnel from pet stores to become our strong military. Pay them a buck or two above minimum wage. Truly, our military should turn on their Commander in Chief.

And that is precisely why Obama is giving out pink slips to many generals and admirals. He's employing those HE can trust.
