My weekend started early this week. Tonight I`m having my very best friends for diner. I spent part of the afternoon cooking-mylotting-cooking. I made a roasted turkey thigh filled with green apple, dry softened prunes and onion. On the side I will have all sorts of veggies from my garden (green beans, tomatoes, baby carrots). I also made a cauliflower quiche with chives from my garden and diced cheese that will melt.
I already invited another friend (the one that went with me to St. Maarten) on Sunday. I haven`t seen her much lately, as she is finishing her thesis.
Anyone wanting to play with me on Saturday?
I love to be with friends. What lies ahead for you on this weekend? Share!

Tags are obviously a good way to direct traffic to your post. The you might also like doesn't care how old a post is. I've found many older posts that have to do with the subject I just posted on.

When I reread my post just now, I marveled at how quickly this year has gone by. I, too, am begining to check old posts I missed written by my friends.

I think I might just have to jump on my broom and fly over to your house and crash the party not only for those delicious sounding quiches and drinks but also because I have missed you, my dear friend!

Dearest P.A.! You are very welcome to park your broom in my house, as long as you don`t do it over the few tomato plants. I am doing my best to discover how to travel a bit more this year. I think that having cancer has given me a new understanding about what "carpe diem" means. So maybe we could meet somewhere in the middle, if you also start putting some coins in a piggybank.

Maybe we could go sightseeing in your broom. I have to get a new driver`s licence. The old one expired while I was in chemo and I have a psychological problem about getting a new one. One of my friends told me he would take me to get it. I hope it works.

It would be wonderful if we could meet somewhere in the middle, although time and money are not on our side at the moment. Still, it is not completely out of the question, especially since circumstances can change in the blink of an eye ... and sometimes they even change for the good.
As for the tomato plants, do not worry ... I have my official broom driver's license, so I will not run over your plants when trying to park.

I`m sorry you are in Winter. I don`t like cold at all. I`m not sure if my joints hurt more in winter, but I think they do. Rest is a great ieda. I had my diner with my friends last night and they stayed until almost 2 AM. Today I`ll rest so that I can be prepared for tomorrow`s visitors.

I just started my weekend yesterday chatting with my batchmates friends online for the planning of our upcoming 25th reunion next month. Today I went to see some batchmates again at the mall and watch the modelling class with my youngest daughter while having a great bonding with my friends.

There are my highschool friends and batch mates came from other places some are from the US that are coming here just to attend our upcoming 25th year reunion. I let my daughter come to us so she can also meet my friends and also she can take care of the camera and become our photographer to take picture souvenirs.

It will be cold though, but I would get to get the icebergs in the very south.

Gardening and cooking are two chores I welcome dearly. I have the seeds for next season. We can plant some veggies now that it is the end of summer and have veggies in winter. I already have swiss chard seedlings and nexyt week I`ll plant lettuce and more arugule.

Your weekend sound very interesting. I too enjoyed cooking a lot. And know what? You just give me big inspiration go cook delicious cake and chickens in mayonnaise marinade. Also nice to hear that you have your own garden where you can get vegetables like me.
Good luck with your friends!

I don`t have a big garden, but even a small amount of homegrown produce makes all the difference. My friends were awed by the taste of my tomatoes, picked when ripe.

I would very much love to join you on week ends my friend if only we were neighbors. Week ends is nothing special for me since i work whole week round, I have no choice since my eldest son would be going to college next school year. What we are all excited about is our company outing, always scheduled on good Friday, think it would fall on the 29th this month of march, This early, everybody is already talking about where to go, what to cook, what to bring etc... even my younger children are all excited so are my workers and their families

We have cheaper veggies probably but other things are more expensive. And we earn much less. I try to make the most with the ingredients that are cheap here.

Sounds like fun-filled weekend for you there! And I like the sound of your quiche, I think I will try it out this weekend. Just reading about your cooking makes me so hungry for my own roasted turkey and veggies. I think I will dig some good recipes and see if I can find something simple for me to follow.

I have even made quiches for parties. I make beforehand a wide assortment of quiches (onion, cheese and ham, cauliflower, spinach) and I place them in the oven when the visitors arrive. I have only to serve drinks and hand out the quiches. Later on, there can be coffee and a cake. It is an easy and not expensive way to invite friends.
