If you could remember before I also put a discussion here about my queries in investing on the stock market, and no one actually interested to reply except one that my answer that I am looking for couldn't find it here, since most members were not into investing and more like for earning more money. Fast forward today, after delaying it and holding my tempt to invest I was finally applied in the number one broker in the Philippines and I put all my earnings accumulated online and invest it on the stock market. I was able to buy shares from blue chips company like Ayala, SM, Jollibee and commercial banks. I am thankful that I pursue it although my gains was just little for now this is actually for our retirement funds so I am looking at it as a long term investment. I put all my earnings in the online world and somehow I also put what's left in my pocket after all the bills get paid and saves emergency fund for the family. Investing in the stock market changes also my perspective in spending like for example I was looking for a dress that I will use for a wedding of a friend and then I change my mind because the price of it can actually gave me a lot of shares in the stock market so now I am opting for renting my dress which can only cost $10

I am also planning to invest on stocks , once our daughter has finally graduated in her medical studies. So can you at least teach me how to do it kulet? Why online? I am afraid of transacting online actually, because of a lot of scams done through the net. How much can one initially invest? How did you send your payment?

Hi simplyd I use www.colfinancial.com as my main broker, they are actually online base, if you could remember back in 2011 GMA7 launch program called "Pesos and Sense" you can watch them now in Youtube having 13 episodes only, Aya Laraya the main host and financial advocate promote COL to enter in the stock market and base on reviews and forums online COL is the best and number 1 broker in the Philippines. You can start investing by just only Php5,000.00 and you don't have to worry which company to buy because COL recommends company to buy that can still be pwoerful even after 10, 20 to 30 years they provide research eveyday about each company the recommend and it is updated daily especially if there is happening on the company like merging or putting up a new project. As for payment I use BPI to transact and funds my cash balance in COL, and I do these on my computer without having to call the broker or go to their office. By the way I apply and download their forms on their site and send it through mail I am in the province and I cannot go directly to their office in Ortigas which is really convenient with me without having trouble of travelling and finding their office

I am so glad that I stumbled upon this discussion. I've been wanting to invest in a stock market for the longest time but I don't know where to start. The forums that I read usually don't help because I don't understand the terms used. May I ask, what kind of account did you open at BPI? Is it just the regular one or do they have a special account for Stock marketing?

if you will choose BPITrade you'll need to open an account on the branch I guess it needs approval of the bank manager but if you will choose COL just send them a snail mail of forms https://www.colfinancial.com/ape/Final2/home/pdfs/col_all_personal_forms.pdf print and fill up together with a xerox of government id and latest billing in your name, I actually prepare COL broker than BPITrade but I use my BPI account to fund my account in COL

That's a good idea. I have one question. How long till you actually see money from it that you can withdraw?

I have seen it before on TV, their topic was about stock investing and I find it interesting too.The guest, whom I think had a long time experienced with brokering says that if one is planning to invest in stocks he/she must approach a licensed stock broker. This is the first time I've heard that we can do it on line. I have started a small business before (buy and sell) but it didn't turned out well so I have to stop. I'm a bit skeptical upon reading your topic but as you have stated it's doing fine, I guess I would give it a thought too.

Yes, I would love to have a small business of my own but the thing is it's much more riskier than I thought. As I have said I have closed down my buy and sell business and up to the present I still have some stocks to dispose. Maybe when I recover some of my capital back, I'll try stock market too.

yes they suggest that you find a good brokerage firm but they also highly suggest COL as your broker the site is simple and even younger in teens can understand it, but I still suggest you to pursue your business and then when it earns save a little to buy some shares in stock market

I am interested in the stock market recently. i want to become an investor too, hopefully I will become one before I reach 30. Where did you learn to invest? I think it is a great way to gain passive income. If I have saved enough money, I would definitely invest some of it.

I don't know if I answered your previous post or not. But I am an investor. I worked for a little over 12 years and then got laid off when my whole department was being closed at a large well known laboratory here in the US. I had always saved at least 20% of my income and had begun to invest. I was able to live and save off of the income from my investments for over twenty years of being unemployed and now also have some added income from retirement and Social Security. But the major part of my income is still from investments. The key is to live frugally but to have some safe investments that have a decent dividend and to also make some riskier investments that have a high yielding dividend. I still do that. Presently my higher risk high yield investments are in mortgage REITs here in the US that have a yield of around 15%. Some of my safe investments yield 4 to 5% and I reinvest the dividends from those in the same stock; my main one there is ATT. Of course I don't know what is available to you in the Philippines and if investing in foreign stocks is easily doable. But you are smart to do it and only you can decide how much to put into conservative safe investments and how much to put into riskier ones.

By the way I bough Filinvest just for fun that costs 1.71 with 1000 shares and now that it became 2 I am selling it in the market today, but this is just an experiment I just want to try if I sell my shares of course its not big as what you all think but just for experience and learning only. I'll said it again I am not a trader or tsupitera I just invest for the college of my son and for our retirement

If I were you I prefer broker that is online rather than calling them to buy for you or trade for you, plus you can see if your portfolio is gaining or losses

I wish you good luck. I own some stocks. I began investing in 2007, just before the big plunge. I have had some misses abut I have also done well on others. Actually, I would do well on some if I sold them. I still can not figure out how to report Capital Gains and Losses so I have held off selling. Right now, the stock market in the United States is very high, maybe an all time high, so I do not know if this is a good time to invest. I have learned that you need to invest when the market is low and sell when it is high.

good for you then if you have already started investing in the stock market. this is something that i want to do as well. i'm already investing in mutual funds and other investment products offered to me by my two banks. i'm happy with the returns i've earned so far but like any good investor, i want to diversify and going into the stock market is my way of diversifying my investments. i've checked the site that you mentioned, col financial, and i'm still reading through it. once i've seen that the service that they offer is a good fit to what i want, then i'll open an account and start doing business with them. thanks for sharing this one airkulet. cheers and happy mylotting!!!

that's good Allen actually I don't have any idea in Mutual Funds I search for it and starts with a big capital so I end up in stocks which is you can start in a small capital. As far as I know Mutual Funds is a investment manager, that invest your money in stock, bonds , and etc and I think it is not called diversified if you also invest on stocks or maybe I am wrong?

I wonder how your investments are doing now. Investing is an activity that requires your attention, and you have to watch over it carefully like watching the eggs in the basket. Never let the cats get hold of the basket. In the same way, every news that you read will affect investing in some ways.

That's nice to hear from a fellow Filipino like you. Keep it up! Also, try to invest not for the purpose of selling stocks at higher price later, but for the purpose of owning a portion of good companies. You know, owning shares of good companies, is like being an owner of that company. A part owner I mean.

I didn't have much money to invest online and this is aside from the fact that I do not know how to do it. As of now I am just doing some online work in order to earn some amount which could add to my savings. Hopefully i could also try this kind of online investment in the days to come. Have a great day!
