What an expensive day

I bought my new wood flooring today. One thousand square feet cost me just about a thousand dollars. It was the cheapest flooring and on sale. But my god is it ever expensive. Still have to buy the foam stuff to put under it. Wich will be another few hundred. We are going to attemp doing the work ourselves. Hate spending that much money. Really makes me sick to my stomach but at least my house will look really nice when it's done. I hope.

We might start to rip up the carpet this week. My daughter will be with her dad who will be visiting all next week so I'm hoping to get it done while she is away so it doesn't take any time away from her in the evenings when I'm done work.

I certainly do know what you mean about expensive days like that. I think that this exact same expense is something that we will be having in our household before too long. You see, I really want to do the entire downstairs of our home (with the exception of our bedroom and bathroom) in wood flooring. I wanted to go ahead and get started with it right away, but I'm going to wait until I get my insurance settlement before it is something that we go forward with. I do know that it is something that is going to make our house look great and I'm sure that the same is going to be true for your house.
