Create a world is a unique feature introduced with Sims 3. It is a wonderful feeling to actually build a world. But it is also a painstaking effort. Does anyone use it? Does anyone really build a world in it?

I've recently just started collecting expansions. I see how the programmers are adding new features into the game with them. For example it was a delight to see that I could now change lot sizes.
The standard town (what is the name? how can I forget?) that comes with sims 3 is hilly so not able to put a lot everywhere. I may try to get the build a world application running on my system even if it means switching back to win xp though that might not be the problem.
I do realise though the time spent making my own personal town has to be warranted. Maybe, I could share it.

I couldn't get it to work straight away and did not pursue. Perhaps, I could look into the problem, I would have to check to see what error message I got (windows 7) and see if I can get it functioning.
Instead, I did choose to alter the town you get in sims 3 and modify it. Building houses is interesting and I like the idea that I can personalize each home with the people that occupy it.
Saving it as a home not just a house will allow me to place it into any town I might build from scratch one day? Did notice that the landscaping is a challenge if the line that borders between properties don't match up. Thank goodness for fencing.

Well time is relative to where you want to be. If I do not have the time to enjoy I just move on to what calls me.
As long as I feel good about what I'm doing then its ok and building something is rather cool I think. I have this idea to build my "dream home" which I thought about long before discovering the sims.
One good thing about making your own personal stuff is how you feel more connected with the world.

I attempted to create a world, I always have an obsession with ars so tried to make a Martian world, but I gave up so fast because I cant figure out how to make roads. Making roads is a pain. At first I thought it is easy but I was so overwhelmed. specially with making Islands and mountains. I hope sims 4 create a world is more user friendly.

Download it again, because everytime there is a update to the game, or a patch update, you have to uninstall the Create a World, download the new file from the site and then install it again. But if you are already creating a world while this happens, then when you are uninstalling it, it asks you if you want to delete related saved files, say no to that. Then all the worlds you are creating dont get destroyed.

Sounds reasonable anuraa32 and you can make corners? They would be cool, terrain I like making hills, ponds etc. Sorry, I could not get create your own world program to work period, but I may reinstall everything today from scratch. I want to refresh things on my pc anyway. It is worth the effort. Now you have given me another fresh way to use the sims 3.
