About 4 kilos of strawberries for just 3.50 today at open air market.
Need a few ideas , of what to do with them all. Ill make some strawberry shakes later today.
Have not had those in ages.
Can eat some with cream as well, yummy yummy.
I also might make a strawberry shortcake, always loved those.
How do you use them in your country?

I can think of strawberry jam which you can use for a long long time. Just surf for the recipe.

Sounds kinda strange I know but I just like eating strawberries on their own, especially if I am working on the computer, much healthier than snacking on chocolate or biscuits. I can't stand sugar on strawberries, they are sweet enough on their own, but that's just a personal preference.

This is similiar to Strawberry Shortcake but with a little twist. My daughter's favorite cake is Angel Food Cake and we take the Strawberries and mush them up with some sugar, add a tiny bit of water to make them juicier, and put them over a slice of Angel food cake, with some whipping cream. You can also do this with some yellow Pound Cake. Now I'm hungry.
You can also throw some into your yogurt.

Hi amiga,
Strawberries have to be processed quicly so as soon as I buy them, I start working. I wash, stem and dry some and place them in the freezer in plastic bags enough for one milk shake or smoothie. I make jam with a couple of kilos. I have some strabrry jam and as it did not get thick enough, I took out some of the syrup and placed it in jars for pancake syrup. I added some unflavored gelatine to the rest. While I do all this, I have some washed straberries nearby, covered with sugar, to eat while I work. YUMMY!

I make strawberry shortcake at least once a year, it is so yummy and not too fattening. I also love to make and I love to eat chocolate covered strawberries. They are also really good with some vanilla yogurt with a bit of granola on top, yum yum. I have some bananas that are going bad, I am probably going to dip them in chocolate for dessert tonight.

Oh I am so jealous! I don't have that same good bargain on strawberries in my place. In our country, if we like cheap strawberries we have to go Baguio City which is around 7 hours travel from my place.
Good that you have that much at that very low price. Strawberry shake! Surely that is a very delightful drink. Enjoy and share! Okay!

I love strawberries and I always look for low-fat recipes.
My favorite is for breakfast or if you have school age children, this is a perfectly healthy after-school snack.
In a small bowl, I pour 1/2 cup of fat-free, sugar-free yogurt, vanilla flavour or greek yogurts I personally find are the best flavours.
Then I top the yogurt with 1/2 cup of Fiber 1 cereal or any high fibre cereal at your disposition.
Here comes the good part: AS MUCH freshly sliced strawberries (I usually put a whole cup!)
Stir it or not, this is an excellent source of calcium, fibre and vitamin C.
You can not go wrong with this, your kids will love it, so will adults and everyone is eating virtually fat-free with all the other goodies for the body.
Try it! You will enjoy it!
p.s. You can also substitute this with blueberries, high in anti-oxidants, or any type of local fruit you enjoy. Tropical fruits are always an excellent choice too!
Enjoy!

Using a variety of fruit, clean them, wash them and do not pat them dry. Then, in a single layer, in a huge freezer bag, layer them, separated by a sheet of wax paper, freeze them. Once frozen, take a portion of any variety or one fruit variety and eat them frozen. This is an excellent way to keep them from rotting and you will be able to enjoy them as is or as ice cubes in your favourite fruit beverage in the summer time.
There is no problem in freezing now and enjoying in the winter time, or vice versa, as these will last a very long time when frozen.
You also get a "crunch" when eaten frozen and it is proven that having to chew foods alot instead of a soft food diet will encourage the brain to think you are full faster than eating soft foods.
So freeze away, chew away, your body will love you for it!
It also helps t ocontribute strawberries to a very healthy fruit salad: put in bite-sized fruit in a deep bowl. The bigger the variety of fruit, the better. This is especially delicious with tropical fruit. Add just enough yogurt, plain or flavoured, fat-free yogurt of course. Add two or three sprinkles of poppy seeds. Mix. Serve, Enjoy!

I love strawberries and eat them as often as i can. You could at them straight from the package or put some sugar on them. You already said my idea if ice cream lol. Maybe make some waffles or pancakes and put it in the batter or on top of them after they are cooked. makes muffins with them or put some in oatmeal cream of wheat or cold cereal. Have you ever had them with cream cheese? I have not but heard it is very good. Maybe even you could make a strawberry pie. Freeze them and eat them frozen. Hope this gives you some good ideas for those strawberries. happy eating my friend.

Wow it's just an amazing deal Can you could sent me some of them too? You can mash some kilos of strawberries and put them in freezer and eat them in what time you want, example I enjoying it with pancakes. You can also make a strawberry cake with cream cheese or just eat them with cream like you mentioned before.

Hi,
I like strawberries very much. I like to eat fresh strawberries. We don't prepare anything by using strawberries. My family loves strawberries. We bring strawberry juice, or cake or ice cream from store. You are lucky that you got strawberries at cheap rate. Enjoy!
