I saw a show on discovery channel here last night.
About flies.
They are so sick, and dirty.
Did you know, what they leave when they land on something?
Its worse than a pile of dog sh**&&&.
And some 
people have them in there homes.
Landing on food plates and things.

Yes, the show said many kids had gotten sick from flies. Very sad to hear that..

Did you ever see the movie "The Fly" with Jeff Goldblum?..UGH!!!!! What a sick movie, lol!
I completely agree with you though, flies are nasty and I can't stand them. I hate when one happens to get into my house. I will chase him down until I can swat his life away! When we go camping we make sure we ocver all our food with these little screen tents to keep them out and it helps. Our garbage is all closed up tight too to stop them from coming around. They are absolutely disgusting.
I feel sorry for the horses and lions and other animals that these flies hang around and terrorize all day...it's so horrible, I wish they would just disappear.

Yes i have seen this movie but did you know the Jeff Goldblum version is a remake of a movie from the 1950's. It has Vincent Price in it who is the same as Jeff Goldblum's character that turns in to the fly. I liked both versions but i hate flies in real life lol.

Hi redredrose....yup, I sure did. The reason I mentioned the re-made version with Jeff Goldblum was because of the special effects...yuk, disgusting. The old one was great too but of course did not have these type of effects in it....still scared me when I was little though, lol!
Maria...it's really a fun movie to watch and some parts are quite yucky. Make sure you get the re-made version and not the old version.

I hate flies too and they are a pest as well as being disgusting. They make maggots too. YUCK!
I keep a fan on and keep a fly swatter handy in the summer time when they are most active.
Flies don't last long at my place.

Here in Canada, we have fly strips. This is sold as a roll and to set it up, you would hang it on the ceiling in a corner or at entrances in your home. When unravelled, it is a yellow, sticky strip with an unknown ingredient to me. This ingredient on the strip attracts flies and voilà they are stuck there and can not get away and die. This strip eliminates all flies in one's home.

Next time I go to the store, I will pick up a few of them for you.
Then I will mail them to you so that you know what to look for or in case they are sold in your country, which I believe, they should!
I will, if it is ok with you, get your mailing address in private so that I will be able to mail them to you.
Also, my husband, son and I have been talking about taking a trip to Mexico. It would be my greatest pleasure to meet you but this will not be happening in the near future. I had a serious accident and a physiotherapist is here monday to friday to help in my recovery. Once I get the green light to travel, probably in a year or two, it would be wonderful to get to meet you and your family. You are my greatest inspiration to writing on MyLot and getting out of my shell so-to-speak. Thank you Maria, for helping me socialize and putting some life back into this soul. I definitely don't like flies at all. Seeing a fly is something that will literally make me sick to my stomach, especially if I'm getting ready or am eating something.
I know that there are a lot of people that enjoy picnics, but I'm not one of those people because there are far too many flies around when you have a picnic and it makes it impossible for me to be able to eat. If there are flies around, I would rather eat inside any day of the week.

Yes I know how disgusting flies are. I have seen many shows about them. As a matter of fact, flies are considered to be the dirtiest insect around. I know most people don't really pay much attention to flies, they just swoosh them away. But they do spit up when they land on food. What they do is spit up an acid like substance and then regurgitate it back. Now here is another true fact, since flies are the dirtiest insect, guess which insect is the cleanest. Okay, I will tell you. The cleanest insect around is the cockroach. They are like cats in the sense that they are always cleaning themselves. And since they are the cleanest, they carry no disease. Unless they walked through some roach killer. Then they lick it and die as a result.

It's bad enough that they are so dirty and spread diseases and all; they even like to fly and mill around humans and irritate the living hell out of us! 
I especially hate them most when both my hands are busy doing something, for example carrying grocery bags or luggage bags, and then they fly in front of my face and try to land in my nostrils! 
Sometimes I wonder why they even exist in this world, but I guess God knows best........

I think that they are rampant in tropical countries. I hate it myself, too. Coz it can really make anyone sick if we are not careful in storing our food most especially.

Be happy you can't see all the virus, bacteries and what all the other insects leave behind around you. This besides of the fact how dirty most people are, how dirty our houses are. Do you know that the doorlink of most toilets are more dirty as the toilet seat itself? Better don't think about how many people already touched the food (bread, meat etc) you buy! Where your shoes land, the hands have been you shaked and above all how dirty most keayboards of the computers are! Better don't think about it.. or be amazed most of us are still so healthy. ps also the food we get served in restaurant..you better don't know where it comes from, how it's prepared, which hands did touch it and how many times before you stick in into your mouth.

Haha, me either. My mom would always tell me that if she got invited for a dinner and saw a fly anywhere near the kitchen or if something didn't look right, she'd say she wasn't hungry.. She also told me that if they landed on you they'd vomit on you, but I don't know how true that is..
I also hate when after it rains and your walking near grass, a huge army of them would gang up on you and I can't even open my eyes without them blocking my vision.. :/

I also hate flies. They are proven to carry lots of germs and disease-causing bacteria. Just one second for their feet to touch your food and you can be infected with a gastro-intestinal infection already. That is why we have screens on our door and windows to keep out those unwanted flies. We also make sure that our trash are well covered and we empty the kitchen trash bin regularly so as not to attract them.

I really hate them lucky that we dont have any flies here. But here are hotels and sweet shops where flies are seen in plenty i would never buy something from there.

Flies occur when there is dirt in or around your house. Even outside area needs to be clean so that flies do not enter your home. Sometimes un-wantingly we have to bear those flies because our area or surroundings are not clean. Luckily i don't have flies in my home, but recently i have seen some small cockroaches and i am scared they won't grow more, i am doing pest control for them. I too hate insects in my house as i keep my house clean and i love it to be clean.
