A few days ago, I couldn't find my turtle. but a day later, I found him alive, under my bed. How could he have gotten out? There is at least 2 in. from the top of the water to the top of the cage, and the table that the cage is on has lots of things on it, but non of them were out of place. The table is about 4 ft tall, and my bed is 5 Ft. away from the cage!

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well that sounds surprising for me as i am not able to figure it out how your turtle would have escaped from that cage knowing the fact that they r slow animals. But most importantly it is safe and alive so u should take care of it properly.
What say?

I guess that just goes to show...every body needs a top to the turtle cage!

I love turtles! Maybe your turtle would like a little adventure in it's life. I think it's cool that he came to your bed. I mean, do you think that your turtle wanted to be closer to you? It's possible. You know, for my turtle, I have one of those carrying cases, you can get them at pet stores, they are mobile with handles for people to carry their pets around. perhaps you can take your turtle out and walk him around the house with you. My Iguana LOVED to go everywhere with me, on my shoulder. Turtles also like company. Just a thought. sounds like you love your turtle!

I have my turtle in a 20 gallon tank and I only fill it halfway with water. He has a basking rock that he can lay on and he used to try to climb out all the time. He never actually made it out though. He would get to the top, put his front claws over the side and then fall back into the tank. Lol He also tries to climb out from the filter but he can't make it.
