Going crazy now, no vacation this year.

With everything that's going on right now, I've decided not to bother with a vacation this year although we really need one. At the moment we've been put into a crunch financially, money that should have been in last week still hasn't come in, and that threatens the roof over our heads. The truck really needs to be scrapped, but I can't do anything at the moment. The bills are piling up, it's just one thing after another. Now we find out that the roof is leaking somewhere, but the roofers will not come until the snow melts. Go figure. Obviously they're too lazy to push snow off the roof to figure out where the problem Everything is is. The stupid roommate who will be out in September tries to tell us that he's not smoking downstairs, yet I smelled it this morning. I can't do anything about it because the landlord and his wife are having a baby soon, and he'd rather not deal with this until the lease is up. Everything is driving me nuts right now, I need a break, but can't seem to get one. I wonder if I quit smoking at the wrong time? This is just too much stress for me, I guess.

i just like to comment, maybe the roofers don't want to do the roof until the snow melts for safety issue not because they're lazy. Have you considered the fact that snow can be dangerous especially if its on the roof and you'll be working there? The vacation you need, if you can't afford it, then you can just get a day of relaxation, do what relaxes you except smoking. go to a mall for instance and just window shop there, you don't need to buy anything right? It wouldn't cost you anything aside from your transportation to go to a mall and just walk around.

If it's an emergency like a leak, they come no matter what. Despite the snow, I have seen a few roofing crews out lately dealing with situations that have arisen because of this winter. It's not hard to push a bit of snow off of a roof, and it's not like it's a high roof, they've been up on our roof before and know what it's like.

Sorry to hear about all these issues going on. I have been there myself and it is not always a Fun picture. Especially when it seems like you are always behind with a bill, and it seems like you will never be able to pull yourself out. I know you are saying you can't afford a more longer vacation this yr, and it is getting rough for everyone out there, but you might try and plan a quick get away somewhere closer just to get away. I will be Praying for your situation and hoping things will somehow improve.

Hi Kris! often when things and expenses happen all at the same time, this sure happens to all of us, that we should just sacrifice something for the sake of what we think should be prioritized. I think even if you do need to have a break, you can just try to find some place to unwind that would not cost you as much. :D

It sounds like you really do need some sort of getaway. Is there someone you can go and visit and maybe stay at their house so it doesn't cost you anything, or perhaps go on a camping trip. You do have to pay but it is usually under $20.00, maybe borrow a tent from a friend. I think we all need to get away once in a while or else life just becomes too stressful and humdrum all at the same time. If you are mypoints you could also use your points for Marriott gift cards and maybe get enough for at least a night away in a nice Marriott hotel. I hope things improve for you, don't start smoking again.

I know the bills all come at once, I have the last few months not been paid. Luckily I was paying for myself, and scraped by, only paying $10 in interest.

Hello kris182_2000 this is checkmail and think you should take a little off in natural if not going on vacation. It might help you feel the emptiness arising due to your problems. And smoking problem you may always persuade your room mate to quit it through some anti-smoking medicines avail at med counters. Hope this helps you.

A lot could be happening all at the same time that we seem could not handle. But what do to about this? Have a lot more patience and have the faith that everything will turn out fine.

Well, i could understand your feeling now but don't smoke again. Just relax, you can think of something nice or focus on working. Just talk yourself that you can expect a vacation later, right now you can take some break hours a day, when you go home, just relax, listening nice music or being lazy a bit...

My husband and I were supposed to have a vacation this year, for the first time in 9 years but that is not happening for us either. =( We have never been on a vacation just the two of us and I wish we could go somewhere. We just cannot afford it and I am heart broken... Bills keep coming in and life gets in the way. We don't have enough money, we need to worry about the bills and taking care of our kids. We are barely getting by so no money for saving at the moment... Life just sucks when all you do is work hard and have no fun in life. I am exhausted with life at the moment. I completely understand how you feel, I am right there with you. I hope you get a vacation soon. Wish we would too...
