I am currently with my Nokia 1200 phone and it has been with me for more than 4 years already. And at the present, it hangs from time to time already and there are certain times that it does not recognize my SIM anymore. I want to buy a new phone but somehow this phone is already attached to me. I do not want may parents also to bother about another expense for my phone.
Maybe someone here would want to donate their extra phone to me :)

That's right. The things that you buy through your own effort will become more valuable for you.You said that you really like the Nokia since it has been with you for over years. So just fix it,which won't cost you much money.Or just like the friend above said, save up for a new phone. It really does not make much sense to use the phone which others don't want.

Why not save up and buy a new phone for yourself, that way, you don't have to bother your parents about spending something for you. You can still use the old phone as a spare phone. Try getting a sideline. Mylot is one good way but I'm sure there are others as well, especially with summer coming up in our country, summer jobs are a great time to earn.
I hope you come up with a good plan on saving up to buy a new phone. Good luck!

Four years, wow! You worked that phone to the bone!
Maybe you can trade in that phone for a new one so you only have to chunk in a smaller portion of the money from your allowance? Maybe you can also arrange with your parents about helping them out in their job (paperwork, filing, etc) then they can pay you for it that can add to your new cellphone fund. That's what I did when I was still I. School, I would offer to type my mother's lesson plans for let's say a month and then she will pay me for it whenever I need some additional funds for something that I need to buy, like non-school related books, clothes, or gadgets.
