This year I wish to paint all the window sills in my bungalow. I have bought a shaggy blue mat and a plant for my lounge. They make this room look even nicer. I have purchased a couple of new arm chair cushions. Their design has a beach hut picture on them. I would love to save up to buy a new pair of curtains for the large window in my lounge. I have a blue and white coastal look to my lounge. A lounge is a living room for the family.
Which low cost improvements would you like to do in your home this year?
Does your home have a particular look to it?

My home is decorated in my own style with its various influences, kind of rustic art nouveau/deco, eclectic
all the best, urban

On the mater of paints, green, red, calico are the colours I use most but I tend to like blue in the bathroom
all the best,

Sad to say all the jobs that need doing in our home are major jobs that have to be done, it's a case of having to prioritize which jobs need to be done first, our windows desperately need replacing but you can imagine how much that is going to cost! That is why I'd rather rent than buy, anything goes wrong you are not responsible. Repairs can work out so costly.

I have to do some major improvements and they cost money. However, my walls seem rather bare so I am thinking of hanging them on the walls. And once in a while, I sort of move furniture around. I do have some herbs and what I did was to take some empty crates put an old wooden plank on top and placed the plants on the. I already use the lamp table as a plant stand.

It´s amazing how little touches can make a whole lot of difference.
To be honest, my home needs us to finish building it before we even think about things like carpets and curtains. And unfortunately that is a big and expensive project that is taking rather longer than we´d hope.

Our dog has damaged one of the walls in the hall, and that is my first priority. We didn't paint those walls when we moved in and I would like to paint them this year. I don't like the orange colour and I would choose a different colour, but I am not sure which colour.
In the kitchen I would like to paint the kitchen cabinets. At the moment they are brown and I would like to change the colour. Maybe I will paint them white, or maybe I will choose another colour, I am not sure yet. Our kitchen is small, so I don't think that a dark colour like the current colour (brown) is a good choice. In the living room we would like a new floor, because the floor is old and ugly, but I think that would be too expensive this year.

I guess, if you have plenty of money, you cant imagine better as far as home improvement is concerned. Many a times, low cost ideas works wonder and mostly innovative too. Best part of modern design is to put some of the garden things like rock, water etc. inside house and house things like chairs, mats, etc. in garden.

Hi Maxine,
My friends took away all the furniture they had in the first room of the second floor (between the stairs and the room where I have my computer). I want to paint that room and place some plants in a small terrace from where I have a wonderful view to the mountains. I don`t have much money, so I guess I`ll see who can paint the ceiling for little money and I`ll paint the walls one at a time. This is going to be my new spare room and it will not be as dark as the one I have now.

I understand you here. I have had to do that here the last 2 years. been lucky my brother is a good handyman. he made me some shelfs out of some old wood he found out back. I was also able to buy some open paints at a flee market. Saved a few dollars. We need to do these saving things now and then. have a super week there.
