are you successful in life

for some they will say yes but most people feel that they do not view themselves as successful. I think it depends on the standards of a person. A wealthy person may still think that he is not successful because being wealthy is not a measure of success for him. some people even though poor or having a simple life are happy and content because they do not struggle much in the pursuit of wealth, fame or the pleasures of having so much material things in life.. whatever the standards of success that we do have, our happiness is connected with how we define success. My point is, we can make success simple or complicated, achievable or not, it all depends on us. why should we long for the things that are far from reality?

Success is different for different people. In fact, for the same person the definition of being successful keeps on changing as the time progresses. When i was a kid my definition of success was to get good education and then a good job, now I have got both of them so my definition has changed and I am sure if I'll see it after 10 years from now it will be again different. But the real success as I think is not about only achieving the materialistic goal because it not possible to achieve every material pleasure in the world. More we get more we want. The most important thing is to be happy and content at your heart, having a good peaceful sleep at night.

yes we can never achieve everything in this world. but if we are content and happy for what we have, we can say that we are successful. some people measure their success based on what other people they admire had achieved. I think it is not right to compare our own success to other people coz we are all different and we all have limitations. yes, what is success if we can't get a good peaceful sleep at night? so for me, having a simple life is already a success for me. I don't have to bother about the things that I don't have.

That is a tough question, for me I think success can mean many things for some of us for me personally I think success is raising a happy family, providing for your family, and helping others.

nice definition of success. actually it is really hard to define success if we have complicated standards for it. I like how you define it, simple and focus on your family and in helping others.

I actually feel very successful for my life. I've had an odd life, where others who were uninvited, wanted part of it (this happens in all relationships, parent/child, spouses, etc.). I always consider it a success because I fought to get unwanted people out of my life and just enjoy myself, even if was playing video games for an entire afternoon. I never wanted marriage and kids, so never went that route, and wake up every day thanking god I did not. I've met so many women who told me, during coffee breaks, that if they had the chance to do it over again, they would not marry and have kids, but they were pressured by family and friends into it. So yes, I am actually a happy person :) I've got good, watchful, free spirited people in my life, and that is the most important thing that I have. Good people, they are your million.
