I Can't Watch ' The Walking Dead' Even Though I Like It

Let me explain.
The reason why I can LISTEN to 'The Walking Dead' as opposed to watching it is due to the fact I don't like the gory stuff. The rest I can deal with as I find the acting very good, especially the two Brits Andrew Lincoln and David Morrisey, two guys who are dearly loved Across The Pond for their work on television, mainly.
I guess I can concentrate on the dialogue more with my back to the screen, whilst MyLotting.
However, watching the gory bits (even though John says they're funny)..well, I can't do it. I know it's not real but, there you go!

At first I thought it was a horror movie you were talking about! The name Andrew Lincoln rings a bell didn't he play a character called Egg in This Life? I used to love that series, sorry to digress. I don't like watching the gory bits either it's weird when I was younger watching bodies ripped apart etc didn't make me turn away and I loved horror films, now I got older I can't bear to watch them especially when it's done so damn realistically! I'll pass on this one.

Yes, Andrew Lincoln was indeed Egg in 'This Life' one of the bearable bits of the 90s lol. He was also in 'Teachers' on Channel 4. He was brilliant in that as well.
I just love it when Brits are successful in America. David Morrisey is from my neck of the woods so I've an extremely soft spot for him. He never seems to look any older!

I think guys age better than women anyway. I don't really know why that is..less stress I suppose.

Well, I don't mind the gore (sometimes) but the reason I cannot watch it is everyone else in here doesn't like the gore. I can watch it in my bedroom but the thing is, I need to catch up with back episodes first and the netflix is installed on the living room TV.

I'm glad YOU find them funny! Mind you, it must be hysterical actually playing a zombie..a dream role for some!

Have you watched it yet? The series has finished over here now but it won't be long until the next one comes along, I'm sure.
Have you see the film 'The Usual Suspects' with Kevin Spacey in it? Or 'Sixth Sense' with a rather under-stated Bruce Willis in that? Both films you will love I'm sure if you haven't seen them already of course.

So long as you don't mind all the gore..'Go for it!' I say!

Hi there Janey 1966!
I perfectly understand what you mean. I love the show and I can watch it but still, there are times when I just have to look away on some scenes. I love the story as well and the gore does not make me love it less.

Hello!
I wish I could watch the gore, I really do but I can't and that's that lol.
However, I have found myself laughing on occasion as it does have some humour in it at times. Dark humour but humour nonetheless!

I'm a fan of the show too!
Maybe it's just us guys, but some of the 'gory' stuff could be considered funny. Maybe it's just that I've been watching the show for a long time, and I've become desensitized with all the violence they do on the walkers.
My son does the same thing though. He'd watched/listen to the show while his eyes is covered more than half the time.

I am very much like that and do not enjoy seeing people torn and cut and hacked to bits. I actually have gotten to where I want to MyLot without anything in the background noise.

Despite having (what I consider to be) some rather nice hi-fi seperates in here I very rarely play them as I want it quiet as well. I never used to be like this but, I guess, if we lived somewhere more secluded or in a detached house, I would play the hi-fi a lot more as I wouldn't feel like I'm disturbing others. After all, I've complained about noisy neighbours in the past, if I was like that myself I'd look a tad hypocritical.
I did listen to the Carlisle soccer game earlier and I wish I hadn't as we drew 1-1 after totally dominating the first half. This is to justify paying a hefty amount some years ago for a full size digital radio, although (ironically) BBC Radio Cumbria isn't digital yet, so it's just as well I have FM on it as well!

School kids in my class went on about that film when it first came out. To this day I've never watched it because of what they said!
