I am thorn between getting a new tablet or not because I already had my laptop. But sometimes I also want a mobility of moving around the house while surfing the web. My laptop serves like a desktop because I cannot use it without plugging in and I can only use it away from my computer table if I bring the plug with me. But I am also guilty if I buy a new tablet because it is still pricey as of now. Although I have spare cash for the new gadget I am thinking that buying tablet is just what I want or gadget gratification to myself. If your in my shoe will you still buy tablet?

I have an Ipad here but there are many reason for me why I want or not want to buy a new gadget like tablets. I dont know If I recommend it for you or not because I use my Ipad only substitute for my computer. i mean computer is much better to use when at home. I only use my Ipad only for facebook, and getting notify with yahoo mails. but its good to have a tablet especially outside your home, on trip or mall.
so for me its equal.

yes, if that will make me happy why not...
it is a bit higher than laptop and you already have laptop, so why not buy a tablet. that will be a good reward for self and working so hard. buy it! otherwise you can not sleep thinking about it.

I have a laptop and my tablet will be given to me in a few days :) If you have the budget I suggest you also buy a tablet since it's very convenient to have one nowadays especially in my case that I want to read ebooks and use it for my reports as well. My laptop's a bit old now too so the tablet will be very helpful. Good day!

I would settle for a netbook instead. A tablet has its limits. I bought one for my daughter and it takes a greater time to connect and download. It can only be use if you have an ever ready Wifi connection because if not you will just repent that you ever purchase it.

I'm having the same issue as well. I think a tablet would be excellent for use in my classes and taking notes and would be great for doing work on the go. Right now it's a bit expensive though. Well there are tablets for less than $200 but those aren't the ones I'm considering.
I would like syncronization with my devices and I think a Surface would be a good choice for me, when I can better afford it.

I hope we get an answer because I am kind of the same way. I could also just get a new battery for my laptop, but I am thinking a tablet would be easier to take with me away from the house.

i have a tablet and probably would also get a laptop. i love my tablet for portability because i have library books that i have downloaded at any given time, i can read magazines, listen to music and play games with my tablet. i also have a Bible app on my tablet which i use for Sundays at church and for Bible studies at other people's homes.
however, a laptop is good for word processing in situations like mylot. i find it is pretty difficult to do word processing on my tablet.

a pleasant day airkulet,
if i will be in the situation you are thinking, i guess i won't buy a tab anymore as i have my laptop. although tab can ease your mobility but i rather bought a mobile phone wherein i can also browse and check mails. and having a mobile with an ice cream sandwich processor will really supersede the use of tab. although tab is quite bigger than the usual android phone but still, having an android is much better than carrying a tablet.

As for me I much prefer other gadgets like an induction cooker, camera, lcd screen or a book. I recently bought a VPN router and I hope I would never pay again for a gadget. A tablet is nice but at the moment, I can read and surf on my phone.

I have a laptop and I also have a tablet. I like the fact that I can instantly access the internet when I am up and about. I use my tablet mainly for quick browsing, games, ebooks, magazines and a few games. It is such a perfect "computer" to have when you are out on errands, at work or school. It doesn't have the full functionality of a laptop but it does support some functions. If you can afford it and you are sure that you will be able to use it, then buy one. If you think that you have other better stuff that you can spend money on, then you can postpone buying one and see if the price will drop even more. There are lots of electronic sales that will happen in just a few months.

Hi airkulet. Well, we feel the same thing. lol! I am planning of having tablet also for mobility purposes but I have laptop also. I really wanted to buy one, but most of the time, I keep on thinking, do I really need it? And we know now a days, gadget are really depreciating fast. Maybe, if you think it as a gift to yourself, then buying it will bring happiness to you. You will know it, because if every time you keep on thinking about it, then you will just realized that you're handing the money to the cashier selling the gadget. lol! You decide. =)

It depends on what you are going to be doing on the tablet and which one you buy or bought. It is good for the portable use but there are a lot of things that the tablet can not do compared to laptops and desktops unless you buy the laptop / tablet.
