I have some people I knew that died so early. You know they did not reach old age. Their hair did not turn grey or their skin wrinkled. I knew someone in the age of 35, 40's and early 60's. Dying at 70 is not too young but there are some who are still strong and healthy at this age. So, I wonder I have 40 more years to live. Do you think life of most people now are getting shorter and you are so lucky if you reach 50 years old and your still alive?

Life gets shorter, so let us celebrate every milestone. We reach 30s, 40s, 50s, and 70s and thanks we are still alive.

I certainly do hope that I am able to live for another good 40 years and I believe that it is something that is possible because one of my grandmothers was in her late 70s, one of them lived until her late 80s and one of my great grandmothers lived until she was in her early 90s.
That said, I have also known far too many people that have had short lives. My father was only 43 when he passed away. One of my best friends was in her early 40s when she passed away and just two weeks ago another friend of mine passed away just a couple weeks after his 40th birthday.

It's still young, we are not ready to give them up. We want to see them old and we feel it's better for them to rest their souls when their too old.

I do fear of getting old and be living all alone. And I always pray to the Lord that may He always help me to be stronger so that I can have more years to tend to my kids.

I still couldn't imagine myself in that situation. But I just hope and pray that there will be somebody beside me, to hold my hand until my last breath.

Really? I would not think in terms of age but the way we live in different age. I would not mind going from this world at an early age as probably I had completed my tenure. However 40-50-60 or 70 are only numbers. One only lives ones and as long as he is alive, h should enjoy his life.

Hmmm...I think it's not true that God decides how long we live. He wants us to live long but if we don't take care it can get short. Just chill.

30, it's too young but as people can't even reach 50 nowadays, I wonder I have 20 years more.

People die when they die, there isn't anything you can do about it. Be busy on this earth helping other people so your life will have meaning and purpose. Eat healthy but don't forget to indulge in the finer things in life. 50 years is only half way to 100, but who wants to live that long? I do, I want to see the changes I made have an effect on those I care about.

For me I want my parents to live longer. I encourage them to think of their health but they don't seem to think of it so I will just accept it since there's nothing we can do.

It can be since the food of most people are not healthy foods and they are exposed to unhealthy environment and lifestyle. People should be disciplined to eat what is healthy and good. But most foods being commercialized on television are adulterated foods, unhealthy and really not good to eat.
But food is not only the culprit, healthy lifestyle is also important. Most have vices like smoking which is really not good. I can also say that it's not in the age but to what God has given us since most of us have our own time to live here on earth and it is important to have a personal relationship with God as our spirit is more valuable than our body, but we need to take care of our body because it is the temple of the holy spirit.

I heard someone, people nowadays abuse their bodies. It's not God's fault if we live shorter, he wants people to take care of their body.

50 is too young but no my parents are in their 50's and I see the big difference. I want to live at least 60 or more and it's fine.

Most people are getting older. The average age of women in the Western world is about 90 years old and men about 80-85 years old. There is a big lack of young people and the elderly people are a big concern to many countries/governments who can't afford this no longer working class (with health problems or ..included).
BTW this doesn't mean people are not dying on a way earlier age in the Western world. There are babies dying, young children etc. So at 50 years you are not old and dying, you are perhaps not even on 50% of your life! Also in Africa you will find people way older as 50 years so. It is good to know that it's not all said we die at a high age or that as soon as we get rinkles or grey hair (my granny already had grey hair at the age of 18 years old!) it's time to die.

That's good news. Maybe the weather or the climate. Probably in some countries people live a lot longer but here in my place it starts to get common.

yes its true our life getting shorter now a days, because of what we eat and the way of living. our environment also can trigger us for more disease as we do not have fresh air, about on what we eat there are so many instant in grocery store we already forget vegetable and fruits everyday.

what you're saying is true. a lot of people nowadays die young, it's because we are not taking care of ourselves anymore the way we should. God taught us how to take care of our selves, foods to avoid, and not to abuse ourselves. however it seem that we only care for our income and forgetting our bodies. so I wont wonder why a lot of people die at early age.

That's what I said too. People abuse their bodies and reckless and careless.

Hi averygirl, Actually people are living longer today than ever before in history. Yes, there are always some who die young but the average age is far above what it was fifty or even forty years ago. Most people no longer think that 70 is old as many are living more than eighty years. Blessings.

Yeah i would call myself lucky if am gonna make 50+ years in mine life as wanna make some good progress in mine future life, even have started sowing seeds for it.An good life with strong hands to support community, nation and needy peoples, while i myself enjoy mine success with better lifestyle.
Why lucky, as current generation is facing an extreme problem of pure environment, 70 % is already polluted thus reducing life expectancy of average new born child.
So as time goes more short life comes in hand.

Yes, polluted. Polluted water, polluted air, polluted land.
