Today I saw a celebrity posted a dish and it is the baked garlic with butter. In fact I just regard the garlic is a kind of herbs/seasoning material rather than food. I don't eat it. I just need its smell for cooking. I can't imagine the taste of baked garlic with butter and I really doubt whether it is yummy.

You should have more imagination. It is a traditional dish in Southern France, and one of the easiest to realize : just put the cloves of a garlic head in a tinfoil with a spoon of olive oil, cook it at 150° C during an hour, and it is ready to be eaten with a piece of bread -- with or without butter --. It is very good, and I think it is even better for a celebrity, because garlic has the magic virtue to keep away of your breath troublesome peoples.

Ewww that sounds not only disgusting but loaded with calories, greasy and pungent. The trouble with garlic is that it has a lingering smell not only from your breath but it secretes out of your pores, it may keep the vampire away but it also keeps other people at distance. Garlic is healthy and does great things for the blood but not in the way it was prepared.

Morning wolfie...truly it is good...the odiferous aroma is almost non-existent when roasted...and just chomping a bit of fresh Parsley eliminates all breath odor. Garlic is a staple in my diet...I DO HAVE GOOD friends, of whom I have asked....and there is NO detection. And yes, some are so blunt they would have told me without asking...LOL!

I think yes, try to combine it with bread and parsley. With that you can fry them, it'll make a delicious garlic bread. Yummy, however, I don't think if you use only butter and garlic, it'll be as delicious. You have to combine it with something else like bread. Or if you'd like to make a soup, you can make creamy soup, with milk or melted cheese, butter and chicken stock and added some garlic as seasoning, it'll be very good.

garlic is good for controlling blood pressure. there are lots of good stuff in garlic. but I don't eat just garlic too or food with too much garlic. I don't like the smell of my burp and it also produce (whispers to you) bad breath. No worries I have eaten food with garlic today. and I brushed my teeth last Sunday.

Garlic has a unique but very strong smell. Some people like it.But whether people like it or not, many others have it because its medicinal properties are manifold.
People who like the smell would relish baked garlic with butter .People who cannot even stand the smell of this herb would not tolerate it.

I love garlic, i find it very nice in flavor plus it do have health benefits. When i make baked clams i do put butter and garlic in it and then baked it and the result is amazing, you only have to mix the butter with chopped (finely) garlic and some pepper then put it on the insides of the clam and bake it. Sometiems we also make garlic bread, mix butter and garlic and pepper and some spices and even herbs put on top of a bread and then toast / bake it. yum!

I couldn't help but respond to this discussion about garlic and butter. I love the taste of garlic with butter on bread. Garlic is so delicious and I love it when it is included in a recipe -- with bread, pasta, rice and other meals. To add a bit of zing to olive oil and garlic pasta sauce, you can squeeze some lemon juice on it and grate some lemon zest on it. I just love this ultra simple and quick meal!

Garlic and butter are delicious on bread. I really like the taste of garlic, and I like to put a lot of garlic in my food, especially in my meat. Sometimes I feel like I cook meat just so I have something to put garlic in. I'm going to have to check out this recipe you're writing about here. Eating only garlic with butter seems a bit much, even for a garlic lover like me.

Absolutely delicious..and really worth a try! Baking the Garlic renders the flavour LESS pungent..it becomes mild and almost with a slightly sweet taste, and the baking helps to reduce the odor. I grow tons of garlic, and there are hardly ways I don't use it..I even have a wonderful Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that uses Garlic.
It's a wonderful taste delight, and it's definitely worth a try!

I love garlic bread and so do my son and husband. The garlic bread is
baked with garlic and butter. So as what you mentioned above, just the
baked garlic with butter as dish, maybe can be eaten with plain bread,
pasta, pizza or rice too! I don't mind trying, if good...it is healthy
too... I hope. So, will you try?
