i just often see dogs on the side of the street. although they are tied with big chain. but still it is a public place. and i don't know if that dog is ferocious or would just come right at me if i pass by near it as sometimes it is hard to notice that there was a dog on the public street although it is just on the side of the street. but i am thinking that it should only be a place for people to walk by and not to leave their dog. the owner should always stay close to their dog as we have to make sure other people would not be afraid passing on that area when they need to.

i myself a dog lover, i do not think the owner will just leave a pet in a public place if that dog is not trained somehow. after all, dog is supposed to be "a man's best friend.

I really hate dogs that bark and tend to stay away from them too. Sometimes its embarrassing because even the small dogs can have a loud bark at times and when its really loud and sudden it makes me jump and people laugh. That's why I much rather just keep my distance.

i totally agree with you. Dogs should be kept tied with chain and owner should be there with his dog. Many a times this doesnt happen and its really frightening.

As for my personal experience is concerned I myself was very afraid of the dogs until one day my cousin's puppy bit me. :p thank fully it was regularly vacined and it was not even an inch deep. but it was worth the lesson. As far as experts say, dogs smell fear. so pretend to be confident if there is a dog nearby may be it will spare you. pets tamed at home are usually friendly and do not pounce upon humans until there is a valid reason. Apart from that they make a great company. if you ask me I would advice you to get rid of the fear and just enjoy these cute creatures. Good luck....!!

I used to have a lot of dogs and funny it may seem, but I am also afraid of dogs on the street. It is scary to walk when you can see from your side that the dog is looking at you and making sound that they want to bite you. I experienced going home from work at 1am in the morning and the street I need to pass by had a lot of dogs and they really bark when they see a person walking. I even had an experience when I was stuck at the corner of the street for about 5 minutes because of that barking dog. Unfortunately, there are some dog owners who are irresponsible. They should not let their dogs out when it's night because it's dangerous for innocent people walking.

Hello there hotsummer! I feel that you are frightened by dogs. But here is a thing about dogs. They are the most adorable pets that you can have.Although there are stray dogs that there are ferocious, but not all dogs are ferocious and will attack humans for no reason.Dogs act that way because they are treated badly or they are neglected of food, water and shelter.Like us humans they too need those in order to live. You are right when you said that the owners should not leave their dogs leashed and tied on the side street ., they should be put on a cage so that they can move freely too.Dogs will not attack humans or any other being if they don't feel any harm coming, they attack only if they feel there's danger.

I think that the owners should be aware about their dog, hopefully these dogs are friendly and will just let the people pass by without even hurting them. But just be careful anyways just to be sure. A shot for rabies is not pleasant at all.

Well, there are people who just leave their dog because they thought that as long as the dog is tied with big chain, they have this confidence that the dog would not lose and can't bite other people. Besides, they have to leave the dog for some reason because they have to do something else.

I feel exactly the same upon seeing other dogs around. I just don't feel that safe. I'd rather turn around and head somewhere else than cross a dog in the street.

Better be careful than sorry. Some dogs are not well disciplined by their owners that's why they attack when they see people.

Hi, I also stay away from dogs. Pet dogs are trained dogs and they are the friends of human. But I am afraid of that dog may bite me if something wrong is happened to him. My son has the experience of dog bite in his childhood. The dog bite his fingers and he had to take anti rabies injections. So I always beware of dogs.

don't be afraid. pet dogs are mostly docile and gentle. big dogs usually are banned to keep in many cities. human is really powerful so we don't need to be frightened by dogs or other animals. keep it in mind, we ourselves are powerful, too.

Agree. Pets have their proper places. Street dogs are stray dogs so usually they do not have owners, so better report it for impounding lest it will hurt anyone. That way, both dogs and people are protected.

i agree some people let their dogs out in the streets and are not even aware that they might be a danger to those who are scared of dogs, or that often these dogs would just make someone feel uncomfortable.
