when a guy says that he really cares about you how do you know that he means it?

Hi danix1982, for me, you can see it directly based on his action. What I mean of that is it depends on his way to show it. I think it quite obvious and you can easily know it, because your instinct will tell and you will feel it. Though some are making it as their excuses just to take advantage of you, some are doing it surprisingly too, like at first you think he doesn't do any effort but later on you will be surprised. Every guy has a different approach on showing if he really mean it that he cares for you, and for me and what I believe, you're the one who can figure it out. =) Thanks

I think you could know it from his gestures, from his body language, from his eyes, or how he behaves when you're together... like, I kind of knew my boyfriend was really loving me, but I became 100% sure when I saw how he was caring about me when I was sick.

In my opinion, you won't know for sure if a guy really cares in just one action or just a few words. You will only know if it's true if you always spend time with him and be part of his everyday life. Not in the relationship or intimate kind. But like in his circle of friends. If you bond with him and his friends and also bond with him alone and his actions are consistent enough then you will know that he really cares.

for me i think i need to observe how sincere he is for that words,sometimes they use it just to make you calm your feelings toward them,really cares means for me that they will never hurt you and in some ways or they never make you think negative against them.

His actions towards you. Promises he keeps that involve you. He will do everything in his power and abilities to help you. How he treats you when you are sick. Also depends on if he treats you as an equal in life. He will also forgive you when you are wrong. A good way to tell (from a christian standard) is how well he acts toward you like if he is trying to treat you like how Jesus would act. It can be hard at times as no human is perfect, but if he trys that should show you he cares about you.
