Certainly in the UK, no licence is required to own or indeed ride a bicycle, even wearing a helmet is not compulsory.

Thankfully we don’t need a license to ride bicycle. Still there is risk to ride the bicycle in busy road. But many are depending on bicycle for traveling especially the daily wagers. It is a mode of transport with no cost and riding the same has its own health benefits too. Here kids are busy in riding their bicycle in by-lanes. My son is keep on asking permission to go to school by bicycle but am not confidant as he must go through main road which is very rush in this part.

Yes, that is correct, you do not need a license to drive or ride a bicycle, but riding bicycles in the main road are not allowed. You will be caught by the traffic officers and when that happens, you will either be fined or you will be asked to do community service. Riding bicycles in main roads, where there are trucks, buses, and cars or jeeps you do not only put yourself in danger, but also the lives of others. imagine a fast car slowing down because you suddenly were in his front, and when he slows down, another car at his back might crash in his and so on. Its not allowed in main roads for no reason at all.

I don't think that there are licenses for riding a bicycle. However, I think the bicycles should be registered or something like plate numbers. I don't have a bike but I know how to use one. I haven't noticed it lately, but my aunt used to have a bicycle before and they put some type of a plate number there. Perhaps that's necessary when you'd like to ride a bike on the main road. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

May be it is still consider as quite an impractical idea to demand license for riding bicycle by many nations' government since not many wealthy people want to ride bicycle on highway and public street as daily commune to work and various places except use by people who can't afford to travel by car or private jet. Government around the world don't see any chance of collecting much licensing fee from this segment of population inside their country from bicycle riders, even China with several hundred million of bike riders on their street daily also doesn't want to have licensing requirement, they just don't think it make much sense at all.

It would be quite weird if there was a licence for that. I mean, it's so much easier to use than a car...

Biker - Biking all the way to and fro.
I don't know if there is any country that requires such but in our country there is no need to get a license to bike. Normally bicycle is only for short distance travel but I could see lots of bikers that travel out of town in group. I wonder if those that do this should be required to get a license.
