I was supposed to do something at my daughter's school today but i was running late and so i just stayed outside waiting for her to go out.
Then i see many mothers too outside waiting for their children, i sat on a bench and it was just me and her. I normally do not talk to strangers and i would have been contented and stayed quiet for the rest of the time.
I asked her a question first and then there! Start of a conversation, maybe it is just me missing my friends so much or maybe i have been reading too many novels lately that i have never been engaged to much conversation lately that i get into talking to this lady. We ended up talking about experiences, personal experiences and it went on for almost two hours. I never got to know her name but i was able to share with her most of the things that i do not share with my closes friends.
Has this happened to you? How was the experience?
IT left me feeling good that i can do that still, you know talking to a perfect stranger and share things that you normally do not share with your old pals.
Chao!

Sometimes we are more comfortable telling a stranger something than someone close to us for that exact reason! A stranger doesn't know us and generally will give advise or talk in an unbiased and objective manner. Plus, we don't have to be afraid we've revealed to much that will come back to haunt us, because we won't ever see that person again.
Other times, that's how friendships begin - two people who start conversing, finding out they have stuff in common - who knows - if you see her again, you could exchange names at least!

yes indeed its very true, their opinions are unbiased and non-judgmental. And we don't really care much about what they think of us because maybe somehow we are thinking we will likely not talk to them again.

I've never talked that long with a stranger but I have talked with many strangers over the years. I'm always talking. I talk too much sometimes. Maybe it's because I'm alone most of the time these days so I will make the most of being out among others. I don't butt into their conversations or anything but, if the opportunity presents itself to say something to someone I usually have no problem taking it.
Back in my younger days, I've started group discussions about things like the cost of meat in the grocery store or whether or not something is good for you. It's really interesting to see just how many people will join in a conversation that has already started, especially when it it about something that affects everyone.
I've actually made some really good friends this way. A lot of people are shy about starting a conversation but are quite willing to join in if someone else starts. I've never had trouble starting conversations. LOL

Which is good for you right?
In my part, i am usually shy and would prefer to be quite, not really much of a talker. But lately, i am i guess just bored with no one to talk to at home, it maybe was just a coincidence that she happens to be setting beside me and hey why not talk to her. But on other days, i really could not find myself opening up that easily to strangers or even to acquaintances.

I don't usually talk to strangers but this also happened to me a few times. It was okay. Most of those times, I was just too irritated with silence. I've finally figured out that earphones can also be a solution to that.

I'm not really one to talk to strangers, because I'm wuite an introvert, but sometimes I find myself talking to others... especially when I have to wait somewhere in a line which is really long... like in front of the university administration office, or one time, a book publishing company had a great sale (they were selling their books pretty cheaps because of world reading day), so I went there to grab a specific book, and I had to wait for ages there. I got to know a really cool and fun teenage girl there :).
