I am married for 6 years and my husband is kind of simple man, simple but sweet, very responsible and caring :) though he loves me a lot but not in to giving me gifts or surprises etc. through the 5 years at starting, he never bought any gift for me by his choice, he always says that he just cant choose the right thing for me as he is really not good into shopping (except electronic gadegets, mobils and computer things etc):D
But i got a sweet surprise on my birthday last year, He gave me a beautiful show-piece. its an crystal heart with a couple dancing inside and small colorful hearts floating inside ^_^ though its not very expensive but most precious for me, its first romantic gift from hubby afterall. I kept it very carefully.

Wow!!! Soooo sweeet :)
After 5 years, he came up with a surprise for you! :) That's a REAL surprise hey!
I can imagine how ecstatic you would've been then :)
It's really a great feeling when a loved one, especially the life partner, makes u feel so happy. Of course, the cost of the gift doesn't matter at all. It's only fools who see the monetary value of such precious gifts :)
ummm have you given such surprises to him ever? :)

Oooh! that's such a cute idea :) Indeed it's a great special way to make him happy and it's such a surprise. Just imagine how he would feel when he finds your notes when he is busy or tensed at the office! It would bring smile in his face for sure :) These are the little things that mean a lot to each other in a relationship.

That was such a lovely gift! I am sure your husband was so happy seeing you the way you have appreciated his gesture. Now, I wish my husband would somehow think of giving me a gift, too. He has not, for soooo many years.

@jenny1015, maurya is right. Why not you give him some gift? This will make him happy and maybe he'll also feel like giving you something. It's true that men don't get these thoughts sometimes :P

I always say with any gift it's not the cost, it's the thought that goes into it, I am sure you have treasured his first romantic gift, and hey it might be the start of many more!

That is really cool. That is great that he can do this little thing, and that you appreciate it. So many people don't have that, and you and your husband do. Hold on to that for a long as you can. Don't let it go!
The little things, are the things that make life good.

Wow that's sweet. And considering that it's unexpected makes it more romantic, right? :) My boyfriend is also a simple man who doesn't even know when he's being sweet to me, whenever I tell him that he is he's denying it and gets all shy which is very cute. Haha. He's not much of a gift-giver either so I always treasure whatever he gives to me. Good day!

it is great that he has giving you a gift and let us hope that he will be giving you more just for no reason at all

It is very sweet of him to buy you a crystal heart gift for your birthday present. Even though it is the only first show-piece he got for you since married five year ago, it shows that he still care a lot about you and love you deeply. Not buying you a gift every year or often is not the same as he is not a loving man or a caring hubby.

Yes, as you said we are not goody-good for each-other all the time, we fight, we argue and make every possible effort to tease each -other but still cant live without each-other :D At the end of the day we resolve and forget all things, there remains only hope and dreams for a wonderful future together :) Its a mutual understanding..

Maybe this is the first time that I has a lot of money. JK. Some people have weird ways of showing their affection, including me. Maybe he tried to express it in another way and it went under your radar. Try to notice the other things that he does to you.. or for you.

Congratulation on your first romantic gift. They are always very special. I also wanted to give some one such gift at some time, but couldn't do so. You are lucky to have such a loving husband.
Happy mylotting.
