Ways poor children can enjoy life

Today I saw a documentary about poor kids living in America in Iowa and California in the USA. Many families are at an all time poorest due to the parents having lost their job and their home. One girl did balancing tricks on a train track. I hope she gets off it before a train comes. Two boys swim in a dirty looking river. Some of the children have few toys and very little space inside to play in. Outside they find more space for hand stands, dancing and skipping around.

Sadly that's all becoming too common, families losing their jobs, not being able to afford to keep up the payments on their homes and thus being forced to become homeless and the children pay the price, whereas their childhood should be a happy one it becomes impoverished and life becomes a game of survival, where they have to entertain themselves with what little they have.

People complain of how miserable their lives could be. They always want something more than what they can really handle or should have. And only when we see these poor children play around with just the things they get around and yet happiness is all over their faces.....do we realize that we are indeed lucky to have a very simple life--just being able to have a roof over our heads and being able to eat 3 descent meals in a day should make us appreciate more.

Innocent kids - What rights to they have?
I also was able to watch one documentary about poor children. At tender age, they are forced to labor to earn some money. they are exposed to dirt, and danger and it makes me really think what on earth does the government is doing to help them. It broke my heart to see these little ones deprived of the good things in life. This is why I always tell my little ones, that they should be thankful because they have all they need unlike these poor kids who are very unfortunate to live in that miserable condition.

Hello! I think poor people are also exist in other country. For us here in the Philippines, there are many poor children that they could hardly eat three times a day. Last night I also saw a documentary show in a tv show here in my country, its all about the families affected by typhoon Pablo here in the Philippines after 3 months. Im so sad and felt sorry for the families affected. There houses are totally devastated as in totally destructed. Agriculture are totally washed out. I could not imagine if it will happened to me and my family, how could i accept it. All i can say is that I really thank God for what I have today with my family.

Hi, This enjoyment of poor kids shows that poor can be happy without money. Thus happiness does not depend upon money. It in up to you how would you like to enjoy your life.

Yes, people who live in poverty often have harder times to get by. Despite living in poverty, it's better to keep yourself occupied by doing something. Otherwise, you will pity yourself all the time. I have relatives who recently lost their jobs and had to move into homes of other family members. But enjoying life does not always require having money. Some simple things in life can also be a source of enjoyment.

That is how poor children play. They do not need to stay inside and have to go outside to play. It used to be that they went to parks and played on the swings and the teeter totters.

This time the economy situation have took a toll on many families around the world especially in US and Europe. When I was small, my family was poor too. So, I do not have many friends nor toys. So I basically take a stick and draw on the sand at my house compound. Lying down looking at the clouds and imagine the shapes, etc. I guess this is how I became creative and artistic! I truly hope the economy will get better and this children have their childhood life a better one.

I'll definitely make some effort if i can one day.Donate some money is a way but to give some physical things is more practical. To afford them better education and thus can affect their whole life i believe. You guys are all kind persons.

It is actually not a new scene here in the Philippines. Though we are already developing, but still we belong to the 3rd world. We still have lots of poor families living in shanties, building houses under the bridge, squatting lots just to put up shelters, or living in the streets. We still have them here. The sad thing is, they do not get pity over children. The adults knew how hard it is to live the way they do, they do not even think about family planning. They just make babies and can't even take care of them properly. I really pity on those kids. Though sometimes we can't avoid getting angry especially of they do something naughty to you. But I get to realize it is because they did not get enought guidance and discipline from their parents.

Hi Maz ! All around the globe we can see many poor children but they are more in number in the Third world countries. My heart cries for these children , they deserved nothing but all the best in this world but so sad because these were hindered from them because of poverty and irresponsible parenthood. My heart cries for these children roaming around our city. They begged for temporary relief with a starving stomach. They are so dirty , sleeping in the street and some are sniffing addicting things like Vulca Seal . If i would be the richest in our country , i could never afford to live in a mansion then going out of my mansion i will be seeing those kids homeless. Of course i know some rich are having foundations . Maybe i couldn't stare to my very expensive bags if i will remember kids eating out from the garbages . Wish poverty problem could be given the priority by our government and wishing too that parents must be responsible to nurture the children well. Hope no more irresponsible parents in this world , so no children would be suffering .

well life is such unfair sometimes. there are lots of that situation globally. Really the situation of the children are very heart breaking. sometimes you will think of how can you help them and bring them back to school. but yes, children can do a lot of things to enjoy... LOL. they are just contented to what they have.

I admit I've been shocked after hearing there exists so poor children in the US, because America has always give me an imppression of wealth and power. I heard of the insurance system in the US is quite complete and comprehensive, how can those poor children be so underprivileged. And I do believe a healthy childhood in both mental and physical is very significant for a person's disposition in future, hope there will be an institute soon who really cares about those kids.

When i was a kid we played outside doing the things that you mention, and much more we used our imagination to have fun. Not things...We were not poor... and we had more fun playing with each other. It is such a shame that children today have to stay inside..and have to have things to make them happy. They are not permitted to play using their imagination.

That sounds all normal and not all families are that poor they just don't have the money to spend it on very little things there kids want and get them there needs only. It helps with crativity.
