I started working as a storage worker at a storage and delivery store.
I have a boss and he tells me what to do. I need most of the time to make it look clean and aesthetic. fix the cardboard boxes ( they get old and tear apart after some time with the weight pressure) or make new ones, count the quantities of everything and remember where everything is placed.
It requires some learning and dealing with the equipment, but, it is possible.
I think my boss has a problem with cleaning. He tells me to make the environment arranged and clean to much instead of learning the job. He takes a paper to fill information and he doesn't put it back in its place. Then, he gets angry when he see too many things in his desk that I didn't took back. At least we drive a lot together and he is the one who drives the car. I get paid for those hours and it compensates the
problems. He has a health problem with his guts. His guts has no muscle to keep it steady and it is called Hernia. He can't stand up for a long time and not to lift up things. His guts just hurts.
Do you have some tips about how to work more efficiently at the storage ?
Maybe some tips about how to remember the location of each thing ?
What to do with each document that I see ?

I haven't tried working as a storage worker but my room is pretty messy, but I know exactly where everything is placed. How? I have no f***ing idea. I just know, that's it. There are even times when my mom would tell me to fix everything up but after I do, that's when I get confused to where I placed everything.

My room is also messy. It is strange when we have many things for different uses.
I don't know where to put them because I may need them later but I don't know when.
The disorder doesn't bother me much.

Just do whatever the boss require of you, if he demand a clean and spotless storage facility under your watch, then you make sure you spend some time in cleaning it out every day. If he need somethings else from you, then let him tell you what's inside his head, it is just a waste of time for you to try to look into his mind and predict what he actually is thinking, unless you have too much free time doing nothing working as a storage keeper, i for one will not have enough time in my hand to try to dissect what's inside my boss's head; except try to get those handful of tasks on hand done in the storage facility as quickly as possible with such a limited of hour there, there are so many works that need to be done working as a storage keeper from my past experiences, it is no doubt is quite a demanding job physically and mentally compare to an office worker.

You are so right, There are many tasks to do as a storage keeper.
I decided to makes things faster by putting a belt with some pockets and put some things in the pockets to save the time looking for them. He never returns things to their place. Plus, I can take photos of the equipment on the shelves with my mobile, make a catalog that records everything with its picture. I will sort that catalog with Excel, or sort it according to the general look and function the equipment can do.
A customer will be able to point on the needed thing instead of describing what he need. Plus, I can replace the cardboard boxes with plastic boxes that are transparent and stronger. I won't need to fix them with a sticky tape.
It will save a lot of seconds that can accumulate to minutes of pure peace.

I wish that there was a way that I would be able to offer some tips to you, but I really don't think that this is something that I'm able to do because of the fact that I don't really know your job and I have no idea of the way that things are arranged at your place of employment.
With that said, I do think that when it comes to remembering where everything is stored, it will be something that you will come to memorize the longer that you are working there.

I have my memory and intelligence and the longer I will be there, the more I will remember the locations. Nevertheless, I can just take a picture of each and every product of our storage, arrange the photos with the computer and give each photo the right name, making a catalog with the name, serial number, photo and LOCATION.
I can do it using a software like Excel, OpenOffice.org spreadsheet...I can sort the records according to the name or the serial number, or just CTRL+F to find what I need.
Every spreadsheet like can sort records according to text or numeral fields.
Location will be seen instantly.
Learning all the locations on the first week is a good memory exercise, but, I need to get into business a lot sooner before I remember every product information.

It is not relevant for me anymore, I have left that job for studying websites development. I couldn't combine the studies and that job.
I have learned a lot from this job about how to treat customers, to write everything and work in order so I would not skip any task, be dynamic, think in advance about how to bring new customers and what would they need... I had some success there and I sometimes liked the job.

In deed, he is angry when he has that stabbing pain. His guts fall slide down to a space where it is not belongs. It makes him pain.
I decide to focus on the equipment arrangement and quantities, preparing the deliveries, organizing the documents. I Will discuss about it with him. We will match our priorities.

Hell no, I don't work there anymore. I have left 2 years ago to study websites development. Now I learn PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
Looking for a job in that area.
