I need faster internet connection

Slow internet connection has been my problem ever since. Maybe this is because I am just using a smartbro plug in stick and not a permanent connection. I opted to use this one because of the fact that I can bring it anywhere so that whenever I have a free time, I can do my online work. I can stand this problem when I was just writing some articles or participating here in myLot. But with the new work that I have, I can already felt the problem. I cannot complete the work given to me at a proper time because my internet is slow. I would like to solicit any opinion as to how I can increase the speed of my plug in device. Or I need to apply for a permanent connection in our home. Have a great day every one!

Hi aries1973..Well, smartbro plug in stick performance will depend on the location you are currently situated. If the place is already HSDPA capable, then sure enough the connection is good, however, if you're inside house or not in an open area, then there will be a quite difference too in speed of your connection. And if I were you, if your staying commonly at home, you can apply for a permanent connection, because it's really comparative than the USB device. You can still use your plug it when you're outside. Smart has LTE capable device already but it depends also if the place is already ready for that type of connection. Thanks and have a nice day too.. hope it helps..

I really know that with a permanent connection, I can choose from different packages from the company. My problem with this is that I have to work and there is no internet connection in my work place (hopefully they have), so I have to bring my smartbro with me always. Although I am working at home from 2 or 3 am until 5:30 am. That is the time when there are jobs available on this site. So if I would have both, permanent connection and smartbro plugin then that would be more expenses for me. What is LTE capable device? Can it help increase the speed? Thank you for sharing!

I think I need to exert effort in finding other ways first before buying a new unit or having a permanent connection. As I noticed, my smartbro device is fast whenever I am at the office. (My office is at the second floor) Maybe I have to try buying an extension so that I could place my smartbro in an elevated place while I am at home. Thank you for sharing. I have checked the link and if ever my idea doesn't work, I'll consider having another plugin device. Have a great day!

Yes, they offer packages, faster speed means more bills. lol! I understand because if you have 2 connection then the maintenance for bills of both connection is there. Are you familiar of 3G network? then comes 3.5G? then 4G or known also as LTE or long term evolution, LTE is a 4G wireless broadband technology that can really handle high speed data transfer and connection. This is the latest in terms of high speed connection, and smart is the first who have it in the Philippines, though the twist is like this, as what I have said, the faster the internet connection, the higher fees. =) You can try to check it here for package or plan: http://www1.smart.com.ph/bro/products/. The idea is, if you decide to use it, you will buy the device. But, as first consideration, you need to clarify to them if the place you are working is supporting LTE network/4G already, because if not, still you will be experiencing the same speed before. And this 4G also, this is one of the main features especially of the latest smartphones out there in the market. =) Thank you.

I used broadband before and there's a of problem due to static signal, traffic due to location and the antenna. Try using free DNS to speed up your internet connection. I am using it when the internet connection a little bit slow. If that is not work call on the customer service to complain about the speed for them to resolve the issue. It might be the antenna or it might be on the server itself. Because there are 26 person which is connected in one slot...

I also used to have the same plug in although it was from Suncellular. However, I terminated my plan because of such weak connection. I always have drop calls when using Skype which was essential for my online work. So I have switched to Smart Wimax. I got better connection and the Skype calls are not excellent.

Hi hotsummer! It's great to know that you are not having any problem with your internet connection. I know how important speed is. It is one thing that an online worker should invest on. But with my present work situation, I cannot decide on what to do. I just hope that I would be successful with all my sites and earn enough amount to maintain several lines of internet. That is what I need to work for from this day. Thank you for sharing!

I use globe tattoo for my internet and it is also the same thing with smart bro it kinda slow too. My advise would be to subscribe for a broad band or internet plans than using a plugin stick because plans and bundles are faster and more affordable but the catch to this is that it has a contract and if you want to stop your subscription it has a terminating fee which is a bit pricey. A permanent connection is really advised.

Hi geloo! As I observe the present broadband stick that I have, I notice that there are times when the internet is also fast, especially when I am at elevated places or maybe I am near the smart cell site. I would try first to find a solution without having a permanent connection. Thank you for sharing!

Because I had experienced postpaid internet connection, that is smart, I more prefer now this plug it prepaid. I think you can't terminate postpaid plans if you do not like its services since it is tied up for two years contract. That means you have to suffer for two years. If PLDT DSL is available in your area, maybe you coulkd apply for that instead because PLDT has much more faster and good service than smart. Believe me, I recently closed my four year internet shop of my mom because of not so good service of smart.

We started with smartbro and it's super slow. I'm just wasting my money. We used globe tattoo next and it's normal speed but after a long time it get super slow you cannot go anywhere, I wasted a lot of money again. Finally, we try sun broadband and its reliable ever since. Hope sun will not change. I spend around 800 a month.

Hi averygirl! There are times that my internet connection is also fast. That is why I agree with our friend here that it has something to do with the location. I am glad that you were able to find a network that works for you. my friend also uses sun and she says it is good in terms of speed. Thank you for sharing!

You need to apply for a permanent internet connection in your home, its much more stable than any other plug-in stick.

Hi joana! I am also thinking of having a permanent connection but as I've said I stay out of the house most of the time because I have my permanent work. It also happens that there is no wifi connection in the place where I am presently assigned unlike the last one where there as free wifi. Well, if there is no other way, then maybe I have to try having my own connection. thank you for sharing!

Hi Aries ! I have been using that Smartbro before , sometimes it was fast but often if you will open 3 sites simultaneously , it will get so slow and later it will disconnect . Now i switch to an internet Pldt line and it satisfies me very much . It is so fast , you will open 5 sites simultaneously , no issues it still loads fast. The bill is not far from having that of Smartbro but if you can have that internet line connection , just keep the Smartbro then use that as a back up in cases internet line will be down. That is what i'm am doing , i don't worry for internet being cut because i got a back up . Enjoy the times four fever now ! Cheers !

i have used different mobile internet connections for years and this proves me that they are really not consistent as even permanent or the ones cabled are not consistent too. but they are more reliable the mobiles, in terms of speed.

Hi neil! Okay, would take a look into this matter closely. I have a feeling that it really has something to do with the location. So I have to find solution in order to get a faster connection using my present plugin device. However, if all possible remedies has been exhausted and still I got the same problem, that will be the time for me to try having a permanent connection. Thank you for sharing!

It says it has an speed of up to 7.2 mbps but when I am using it, the speed seems too slow I have to wait for several minutes before I could load a page. Maybe it really depends on my location. Thank you for sharing!

I assume everyone need to have a decently fast internet connection in order to be productive doing online work, if the connection is slow, most of your time will be wasted waiting for the web page to load or waiting for the browser to find the website. Either way, you sure sound like you need a permanently fast home connection to get any work done online, can not depend on the wi-fi provided by the cafe in your neighborhood anymore, if you really want to anything done efficiently.

The issue concerns me too. I have a permanent internet home connection provided by BayanTel but not satisfied with its service; most of the time the connection is weak, sometimes hardly felt with notice like "explorer cannot dsplay page". The same reason attracts me to your problem so I devoured all responses offered to your problem. From them I learned that 4G with LTE support is latest in SmartBro, which is according to informant provides stronger connection with corresponding increase in bills. Another responder in your downline says a friend of his uses a "sun stick" to avail internet connection though very slow but free. He added there's a tutorial on how to install this in the PC.

That is the advantage of plug in. You can bring it anywhere. But there's also free wifi everywhere. If you're going to use it for work, then maybe it's time that you apply for a permanent connection at home. It's reliable and you can always connect the bill to your phone or cable to save. When you have free time, try looking for posts in local forums. My friend has a sun stick and uses internet for free. They have tutorials on what to install in your computer and tadaaa!. A free internet access. Slow but free.
