Who's the fairest of them all? And the mirror answers "Snow White", who if you're watching Snow White and the Huntsman, is played by Kristen Stewart. And here's my first problem with the film. Is the mirror blind or something? Kristen Stewart hotter than Charlize Theron? Cmon, Snow White is supposed to be like the most beautiful woman of all and they cast Kristen? If I didn't know about Twilight and I saw a shot of her in this film, I would think she's an evil witch rather than a beautiful princess. Just look at the shot I posted with the discussion (I hope I did cause the mylot tends to be glitchy with these things). She has that same expression throughout the whole movie. And don't tell me that the "fairest" refers to inner beauty. It clearly doesn't since before Snow White came of age, mirror stated that the Queen is the fairest. And the Queen is the most evil person in the whole movie. But I didn't have a problem with just her appearance, her acting was also pretty bad. It's like she can't show emotions. She never smiled, not even in the end. Was it happy ending? It looked like it should be but I can't really tell because Kristen just looked very awkward and even sad. Was it intensional? With her acting I can't even tell. And why did they cast a ginger girl with freckles and all to play young Snow White? She doesn't resemble Kristen one bit and doesn't even have the same hair color. Aside from that, I kinda liked the movie. There aren't many good fantasy movies out there so if you like fantasy, don't miss this one. Sometimes it reminded me of Lord of the Rings but with everything scaled way down. Fighting choreography was good, I liked the dwarfs, the fairy tale bits were interesting and didn't break the somewhat dark tone of the film. I didn't mind Theron's screaming and overacting. One of the better scene was with crows falling down through the tower and forming into her body. That was awesome. Chris Hemsworth, the guy who plays Thor in The Avengers, was alright. And so was the movie. It's alright, average and forgettable. 5/10
