Filibluster? Did Sen. Paul and 9 other senators do the right thing or not?

Well if you are going to filibuster a nomination and talk for 13 hours to make your point, it SHOULD be about something as important as using using lethal force against Americans in the US. As a RINO liberal Republican I have to (sputter) say that Rand (cough) Paul really did (wheeze, choke) the right thing with using the filibuster. Isn't that what it is there for?

I think the problem with Rand Paul's filibuster is he ended sounding more like a paranoid freak than promoting his cause. Many of us are not in agreement with the law but at the same time we understand the law. Some say they want to impeach the President over this. I say no, you just want to impeach the President. It does not matter what he does, he is not going to meet your standards of being President just because he is black and is a Democrat. He is not a socialist like many claim, he is not a dictator like many claim. I think many people in this country are just being unreasonable and probably should be ignored because they are not adding to a constructive discussion. They are just p!issing people off so people will stand divided.

Wow, it didn't take you very long to play the race card. Well done. I guess nobody cares if he thinks he has the authority to murder Americans on American soil. We just don't want a black guy doing it.

I call it like I see it. I am not saying everyone who dislikes Obama is a racist but many people are. I would say a good portion of the right can't stand that a black man is in charge of the country and him being a Democrat just adds fuel to the fire. If that's not the case why so many made up stories about him? Not just made up stories but hateful stories. I get that happens with every President but not as bad as Obama. In not such a hateful way either. To answer your question about bombing Americans on American soil. Eric Holder sent Rand Paul a letter saying the government is Not Allowed to bomb Americans on American soil. Apparently Rand Paul was actually satisfied to that one question he got answered. I personally am not a big fan of the law but like I said I can understand it. That being said it would be nice if the White House would be more transparent on what exactly the law entitles them to do. That's where a lot of people are having problems with it.

That happens with every Presidents approval rating. Personally I think people just like jumping on bandwagons. All you need to do is go to Facebook and You Tube doe a search for right wing blogs. There is no shortage of misinformation fille dwith hate on the internet. You are right about about Rand Paul. I give him credit for that. I just could of used all the paranoid rhetoric, but I guess we all do that in some shape form or another. Plus he did have 13 hours to kill.

Yes, he did the right thing. And the reports by the media are that he won. That is the administration has said they won't use drones on American citizens on U. S. soil. Of course it remains to be seen if that is the end result or is just another lie.

I know how hard that was for you. Congratulations on getting it out. Paul's filibuster has definitely put a spotlight on a very serious issue. It should be coming clear to the Democrats that the President has completely crossed boundaries that should never be crossed. While I am not expecting impeachment proceedings for a President who so clearly violated the US Constitution, (the Democrats aren't that brave) Congress does need to start reigning him in.

Well honestly, there is no "right" or "wrong" way to use a filibuster. It's a perfectly legal, legislative move in congress. They could filibuster a declaration that it is 2013. Might be stupid, but it's neither right or wrong.
