As PublishUs allows published articles, I have taken many of them from EC to PU. I realized that the article I wrote on Virender Sehwag's ouster from the team got many views in PU than in EC. I tweeted the article in both the sites. However, I got only single digit views in EC and on the other hand, many more than that in PU. I fail to understand how it is possible.
But the rates on EC are too great compared to PU. Otherwise, I would have written only for PU. Please share your views.

Sharon,
Yes anybody can join the site. No problem. It pays through paypal and the best thing is, even if earn just 1 cent in a month, you will be paid that one cent. Isn't that great?

Yeah great!
So they pay on a monthly basis. That is kinda interesting. Hopefully I would gain success on the site. I just hope I would have more time.
Good luck to all of us.

I heard about EC and PU on mylot. I have registered with both sites and wrote a few columns for EC. I think that I have only published one article for PU. I am on other writing sites that I devote most of my writing time to and do not seem to have any extra tome for EU or PU.
From reading your discussion, it seems that EU pays more per view than PU. Since you can re-publish on PU, I would stay with both sites. It seems that you have nothing to lose but everything to gain.

If you are writing on different sites other than these two, those might be certainly good ones. By the way, I prefer to have pageview type rather than the upfront paying sites.
Anyways, EC has better rates than PU, no doubt. But these days, the views that one gets through tweeting have dried up. I wonder how that's happening.

I like both. My favorite site is Yahoo Voices which sometimes will give upfront pay but then you also get page views with Yahoo Voices.
I have a twitter account but never really got into it. I never tweeted any articles. I recommend Tumblr and RedGage to increase page views. Just post links to your articles. I have had good results.

I have had a long day and I am very tired. I do want to reply to your comment. I have a lot to say but I am too tired to do it now. I will do it tomorrow.

I know that. But I fail to understand why EC is not letting us have our views. That has again made me skeptical about continuing with the site. Already the crash has cost a lot. And to add to that, these low views in tweets is bad too, too bad.

But the rates have been too low there. Previously the rates were good and the writers were getting paid nicely. But not these days. How are you doing there?

Anyway, this is what I thought about EC. If you got many views in PU, why you got less in EC huh? I just wondering why. I happen to read one member of EC. That person is complaining about the views on EC. She said that she did the experiment. She felt that she was cheated by EC and it is because when it comes to EC, she got less view while the other sites that she was posted from EC, she got many views.

There is a friend of mine in EC who was always complaining about the views. He said that even if he tweeted his articles, he wasn't getting any views. I couldn't believe it. I tried and realized that the views indeed went down. About in mid 2012 when I used to tweet at least 30 or so articles, I would get around 1000 views. Yes, it was too good to believe, however, I was active in a group and we all tweeted for each other. However, the views have dried up.
I have marked that even if I don't tweet I normally get the same views that I generally get even without tweets. The only difference could be of around 30-40 views here or there. But basically the views aren't as great as what I used to get. Then how is it good in publishus?

After reading these various responses and seeing the thoughts I also feel that there is something behind the site that is not being able to understand. Why is it then that only those views are less after tweeting whereas the same is not the case with other sites?

Hmmmm... I do not want to judge EC, he he but I am a member of EC. It is just that I am not active anymore. For me, there is something behind EC which no one knows and I do not know what it is.

Well, look like it is different for different sites. IF you will tweet the same article on wikinut you will get even more good result.. But than again rates per view is lower on wikinut.
About Publish us I am not more on that site. I have heard that they used to cut too much money at the end of month and send us lower payment than what we have actually earned.. So not active anymore on that site for now.

I wonder how it is different for different sites. When we tweet a certain article, it is sent to our followers. So, the site does not matter, I mean the origin. It depends on the followers. And if what I say is right, then we should get equal views for all the sites that we tweet.
As I said earlier, I use PU just to re-publish my articles and I am not expecting much from it either. It is just a bonus. And whatever it is, it is fine.

So should it be safe to conclude that the admin might be having a say in the views that are getting displayed (which are less) and the actual views that we get (which are more). I see only this meaning to read between the lines.

Well, Even I don't know how we get different views. I mean if our followers are seeing those articles, then it is possible that they don't go for our every tweet.. But still I am confused as we used to get views instantly when we tweet something.. and I still don't understand how..

Yes, it certainly is. It pays and I have been paid twice already. I don't find any problems with the site at the moment and yes, I get good views from it if I tweet. So, all's well there.

There are two things I have to say - does Twitter and search engine results have anything to do? And like you too I am ignorant about some of the facts, which I hope you can clear. If we have followers on Twitter and tweet a certain article, it goes to the followers and not SE. So, search engines don't have anything to do with a tweet. That's the logic. If that weren't so, even a person with 10 followers should have got the same number of views as a person who has 1000 followers. Because, SE results don't have anything to do with how many followers a person has.
Secondly, how does it confirm that I have written the stuff if I tweet it. It just gets the date stamp as you said. But does it confirm the author identification. Anyone can tweet any person's articles. Then how can one know who has written it.

I am seriously showing my ignorance here, but why does tweeting an article make such a difference? I don't have many twitter followers, so I haven't bother much. But from what you say it is something beyond the number of personal followers I have, that increases the number of reads.
Is it something to do with it being more likely to show up in search engines? I did read that by tweeting an article I was effectively putting a date stamp on it to confirm I had written it, but I didn't know it had any effect beyond that.

Hi abhi! I still have a couple of articles in EC. I'm happy that even if I'm not really active there, my old articles are earning money for me. I easily earned more than the minimum payout every month. I hope the views still increase, though. I'm starting to work with Hubs again. I feel that the site has a lot of earning potential... I just have to figure out what to maximize my articles there.
Good luck on your 2 sites!

What? Only a couple of articles and that too make you earn $5 per month. Wow that's great.
HP is certainly one of the best sites around. But I had read an article that from March, the earnings of the members likely to go down. There was a reason specified, which I don't remember now. But you can make a search on EC to find that article. I hope you do well there too. Good luck!

How easy it is to say than doing, at least for me. By the way, I do try to write on the latest news etc. So that I automatically get views as a lot of people are searching for the same type of stuff online.
