Hello Friends
These days people love to have new smart phone with good features. But one thing I have noticed that most of the people just check out the video quality of phone, camera quality of phone and music quality of phone before purchasing it. I am talking about in my area, I don't know about other areas in the world.
But this is little weird. Personally if I go for any new smart phone I also checkout technical stuffs like processor, RAM, internal memory and version of the phone. Well, smart phone is all about gaming and different apps and if we don't have proper technical specs then surely later on we will face few problems like non supportable apps and games problems.
What about you? Do you think it is important for you also, or you don't checkout those technical stuffs at all?

Hi SJ.. Don't say that.
These days smart phones are quite cheaper with good quality. Even I am like your type.. don;t like to spend more money for smart phone. But you can go for affordable one and have good features. Believe me you can do lots of other exciting things than just calling. You will love it.

I am still waiting for my turn... I will be buying a Lumia one or even an iPhone - they are giving them out on easy EMIs starting from 1800.00 INR pm. Well, does that mean I am not into any specs. Yes. If I buy a handset anytime which is smart, I will go for a branded one and that does somewhat can help me be away from the specifications.
However, as you know, I am happy with the normal handsets and currently I have that aged LG one. I believe that I will not buy any smartphone ever as I am just happy with what the ordinary and not so smart ones offer - the features to call and text. That is the use of any handset for me as I do not think I will do anything else on that gadet.

Hi bro..
I would like to advice you to not to go for Lumia windows os.. Instead of it go for iphone. Its the best. and if you are going for iphone I can say that you surely not need to look out the specifications. It is the best thing to get every, it is best one in compare of any other phone. I can say that from my past 3 years. Just go for iphone.

I am among the ones checking if the music is good. I also check the amount of RAM, because it is important, but not all the technical details. I use my smartphone more to listen music than to surf the web. The only other thing that I do regularly with it is to check my emails when I am not at home, and to do this I don't need state-of-the-art technology.

Hi Topffer
You are doing good already. One should choose those specs as per their requirement. If you like music then you should surely go for smart phone with good sound quality. But I have seen few users who love to play those big games and not at all see those kind of stuffs before checking that kind of specs. I mean for big games good processor and RAM is important. They just hears other reviews and check the video quality and all that only.

It sows you are good in technology and have better knowledge, I don't go with any technology at all but go with what I am looking for, for example if I want a mobile phone for internet, then I will go for which is good with internet feature, but if I have to use it for some office work, then I would take which is good for such work. An all in one would do better so I have to decide which facilities I would use.

You are quite correct on it. A person should go for any phone as per their own requirement. And that will be best. But yes even for that purpose little investigation required for sure. I mean even if someone want the phone for business purpose he/she should check that phone have feature related to it or not.

I agree with you I go for the technical stuffs and what new feature the phone has. But most people will look for the camera quality of the phone.

Yes.. That's what the same thing I noticed. I have seen many people who just used to check out camera quality of any phone before purchasing it. and yes check out how videos and music got plays on it, that's it. They surely not care to check those technical stuffs.. May be they don't know more about it, but they should ask some technical guy for the same before purchasing any phone. After all we are spending money to we should take a good decision.

I don't yet actually own a smart phone, but that is something that I am hoping to get in the future. For me, it really isn't going to be something that will be all about the technical aspects of the phone because I will very rarely be using my smart phone in the same way that I use my computer. Instead, the most important thing for me when it comes to a smart phone is that I want one whose camera is better than my point and shoot camera so that I will have to carry one less device with me when I leave the house.

Well, that's what I am saying too.. Camera is also one of those technical stuff. And yes one should go for all those specs as per their requirement. I mean as you mentioned that you will not do more stuffs with your smart phone but you will use camera feature more. So choosing good camera phone with good mega pixel is important to you. So in the end it all depends on the person's requirement.

Hmmm......Well, I do check on it especially if I am on a budget. But what I really need is something that I can use to text and call and has a camera. Am not really into other more techie stuff.

Hello..
Well, those are the most basic and important feature for any phone. But sometimes knowing other technical stuffs can be beneficial for us too. I mean if we don't need other technical stuffs then we can skip them and find out other cheap phone by excluding those features. So knowing those technical stuffs can be helpful to you.

I'm saving up for a new phone right now. Yes, I check for specs. It's important I get what my money's worth. My current phone is already 2 years old. xperia x10i. It is still doing great but I'm giving it to my brother since he's asking for it. I don't want to change phone from time to time so the quality is very important. And currently, I think the best phone in the market is the xperia z with regard to external and internal features. It's going to be my frist time buying a phone from my own pocket. I'm excited. :)

Hi Suni
Well for that kind of purpose Smart phone is the best thing. I mean during such trips we can surely access the internet from almost all places, plus if we have smart phone with camera, we can use it instead of camera as well.
Personally I used to play big games and other good apps on my smart phone. So to make them run successfully I have to go for technical specifications before going for any new game. So that's why I asked if people watch this thing also before going for new phone.

Yup, sometimes people buy because there are many features. But least do they know the specifications of the phone is very important. Otherwise it will pull down the phone's performance.
Example, if the phone can provide very good quality videos and pictures, but the processor is not strong enough. Then surely when the user used it, they will feel the phone is lousy because it's running slow or always hang. This is what i don't like.
That is why i prefer to choose a good specification for the phone first, then only check out what are the features offered in the phone that makes the phone useful to me.

Yes I do.
I don't have great knowledge but still i keep checking all the things before buying.
As Ram, processor, Internal memory, camera mega pixels, how much we can expand, i guess these things are very important when we plan new smart phone.

Yes.. All are important. Even we don't know more about them we can always refer to internet. And these days each and every phone have online video specifications using which we can easily understand any phone deeply. So why not to use it before purchasing costly phones. That's the proper step.

Oh yes, I am usually very pedantic about checking all aspects of a mobile phone before upgrading to a new one. Such features as internet and email do not really interest me because I always use the computer for those, but I do make use of many features and consider it important to know exactly what I am getting. The most important factor to me is the call quality because that is the original purpose of the phone, but factors such as camera quality and versatility are also extremely important nowadays.
Whenever I am due for an upgrade I usually purchase a mobile phone magazine that carries reviews on the majority of models available, which I consider a good investment considering the cost of a top quality mobile.

Well, reviewing all the phones before purchasing it is really smart move. Well, everybody should follow the same. First checkout the requirement then checkout the reviews of that phone that if it is good enough for your requirement or not, if it is good then go for it.. That should be the perfect way.

I went through few different smart phones but I've never play games or watch shows on them or even listen to music... I only use it for making & receiving calls, text messages & emails & few hours a month of on line... I guess everybody has different needs... I do go through between 2,500 - 3,000 minutes of talk time on my phone so I do check the specs on phones before buying any... I usually end up getting extended battery anyway... That's one of the things I hated about android based or iPhones... There's. to too many droid phones that you can get an xtended battery for & iPhone gets too bulky when you put it in a case with extended battery built-in... My position @ work change & I do have an iPad now so I don't use smart phones anymore...

Well, I have to be agree with you on that. Those smart phones of android and apple surely don't give up great battery backup. So if someone is using phone for more talking purpose they have to keep separate phone specially for talking purpose if he/she want to keep smart phone too... So yes everybody need to keep their requirements up before purchasing any new mobile.

I'm not a huge technological buff. I didn't even have too many choices of smartphones, because there were like 4 models of which I could choose (my dad'd workplace has a deal, a flotte kind of thing, and 4 models of smartphones could have been bought cheaper). But I kind of chose based on design and the functions seemed okay.

That's what I do too. Even any new mobile launched I just used to take a look on its specifications even I don't have to buy. That's my interest related thing. And yes investigating all required thing before purchasing new mobile is important thing, one should have spend time for that thing.
