I am seriously at loss what to give my parents on their 30th wedding anniversary. I’d like one that can be both used by my parents – and giving pearls will just be redundant. My mother has already a collection even dad gave her some and I don’t want my dad to feel left out. Can anybody suggest? I promised on their 5th that I will really give them something if I have spare cash and today, I think I can have some. Also, my parents are simple people and they aren’t really materialistic. They life comfortably, another factor which makes it even more difficult for me to think of a gift.
They already had a number of appliances still in use and in storage from their 5th anniversary.

When was the last time they had their picture taken together?
Worked a photography studio and this family came in after the parents had their's taken and then they did a big group photo and then individual families.
I thought it was a nice idea because how often do you get professional photos taken that you can have as a keep sake.

well, professional photos is good. We usually just ask people to take our pictures and that was it. Might be good to have a professional do it.

its really amazing seeing couples reach their 30th wedding anniversary. well... base on your description of your parents, i think it's best to gift to give is a reservation at a restaurant. and of course, the bill is yours. you said that your parents are not materialistic. let them enjoy the food by themselves. i am sure they'll love it.

Spend the whole day with them, take them to their favourite haunts, parks and maybe just laze at home. Buy them some chocolates (which both like) and some wonderful flowering plant that both can take care of. This way you have given them the best gift, your time and plus a gift that no one can say you were partial about.

I have to say no to the chocolate. They don't like sweet stuff. Mom loves plants but dad loves dogs. spending the day will be a very good idea.

Thirty years is a lon time for a couple to be together. I wish your parents every happiness on this anniversary and for the ones to come. I think it would be pleasurable for both of your parents if you gave them a gift to share together. I would send them out on a night on the town or even a trip somewhere. It would be a memory to be enjoyed by all.

A special day for them Im usre. Id say make something. Like a video or album with many memories for them. I think they like that, more than any gift you could buy them.

Hi there Jeanneyvonne, it is really hard to think of a good gift we can give our friends, much more our family members. Can you give them something like a couple stuff? Now i do not know if your parents are "game" for these stuffs, what are their age? i think it would be cute if you can get them a couple shirt, these are not only for the youngsters you know? ;) Or a couple cup or mug - that'll work if they both love coffee so imagine they would use the mug for drinking. I'll think some more and see if i can share more gift ideas. :D

They are both nearing retirement age so I tihnk it would be really appropriate to give them some boost or soemtihng unique. A couple shirt is kinda good.i mean, it's a good gesture of their marriage and partnership. Thanks for your future recommendations.

the safest way is to give money. why not treat them at a restaurant, together with other people close to you? or book them at a hotel. some hotels offer discounts.

Hotel idea is good. But I have to consider what other activities inside the hotel. But that will be a good starting point.

I think I cannot afford a flat screen TV. Besides, we already have one and each one already had their respective phones. Thanks for the ultimate advice.

I like the idea of a restaurant too, or maybe a trip to a theatre, or pay for them to go somewhere else that they may both want to go to, but never get round to doing.
As that way you are celebrating the relationship, as it must have begun with them going out together, so that would be quite nice.

Hm why don't you give them a romantic dinner? you can arrange it special for them. It's their 30th anniversary and I am sure they don't need something like technology or jewelry or furniture. I think what they need now is a special moment presented by their loving children

I'm thinking about a spa or wellness trip voucher or if you could afford more, maybe a nice holiday in a foreign country or in a nice, more interesting location in your country. Also, any kind of experience gift (like theatre, airplane or Formula-1 car trip etc.) would be great.

Nice ideas. But I have to consider their schedule as well when it comes to trips. I tihnk some unique experience will be in order for them.

Hi,
I wish happy marriage anniversary for them. You can give them one beautiful painting having beautiful view of the nature. While watching it they will feel happy. It will remain all the time on the wall in front of them. i think this would be best gift for them.

what do they like doing together? is there a place they like going to or interested in? you can eat out at a place you feel they'll like or somewhere new to them. what kind of cuisine do they like and in what kind of environment? do they like nature? open spaces?
there are people who appreciate and remember the experience more, especially if there's some "sightseeing" involved. or book them for some spa treatment or an overnight/weekend stay at a small hotel where they can use the pool and have free breakfast?
i also like the photo suggestion. you can make it of them together, one solo for each. it would suit people who don't like material gifts and you can have them framed and displayed as well.

Spa treatment is also a big consideration but they will be busy in the coming months so I tihnk any spa treatment will have to be done after the activities. I guess you have a point in making a good experience and not just any kind of material gift.
