Whole family suicide together?

So i read this on facebook, that a normal girl having a normal profile on facebook had no idea that someone was hacking her account. Somehow, someone managed to impersonate her as a call girl on the internet posting her details on various locations. Problem arouse when the whole family including the girl found out and according to the news they all committed suicide to do away with the shame.
Now what i find odd is what does suicide solve? why not take legal help instead of doing something this dumb?
If you ask me, it would be a cold day in hell before i kill myself over an accusation over the internet!

You are indeed very right, I too won't get easily believe what I hear, hear, watch everything on the internet, even things that I hear in real life, I would not let gossips to take over my judgement and control the way I act and live my life, the saddest thing is that they already committed unnecessary things. Condolences to their relatives.

Where were these people from. I know different cultures have different ideas, but this seems a bit much. Are you sure this isn't a made up story?
