Signed Books

A few days ago, one of my favorite authors came to Manila for a book signing event. Ransom Riggs... Sadly, I already have a hardbound copy of his book and buying another one wasn't really a practical option for me so I could have it signed. Long story short, I felt so sad when I read the qualifications and realized I can't be one of the lucky people with their book signed. Might seem like a little thing for other people, but I rarely come by such opportunities because my other favorite authors are... dead. :( Have you ever had a book signed? I'd like to hear about your story! :D

Hi ! I wish Daniel Steel could come to our place then i'll let all my Daniel Steel books be signed on. In our country , seldom authors came here and did the signing of the books. It would be so beautiful if books are promoted like the albums of the singers but mostly albums are the only ones promoted ,seldom books being promoted . I don't know in western countries but in our country like only in highly urbanized place are the books being promoted .

it was real difficult for me to see the books author, because i live in country town and they live in the city or most of them live in the capital of my country and the distance is so far away from my home and i must spend much money to go...,i really want to met my favourite author but i also think twice for the budget.

It is excellent to hear that one of your favorite authors came to Manila. It must have been so wonderful to get to meet Ransom Riggs. It is lovely that you came across this superb opportunity. I haven't got any signed books but it would be great to get one. I like a book shop in Bristol called Stanford. There is also a bigger branch in London. It sells travel books, maps and travelers goods.

Actually I wasn't even able to go there to see him. :( Wow, travelers' goods. Like globes and stuff? I like such items, maps and books about places. :D here bookstores are mostly just the usual kind, no special ones. I bet there are some, but there aren't a lot. :) It's so fun being inside these places, right? :D Thanks for sharing your experience re signed books. I hope we get one for ourselves soon!

It's so weird and unfair. In my country, there are numerous book signings, but I've never heard that they only let people in who bought a book in the venue... that's such a shame.
