i live in the northeast (USA)..and yep,it's snowing again.we've had quite a few nor'easter storms this year..spent 3 days in the cold with no power on the last..and i am so over this poop.i shouldn't be surprised, this is the north after all..
but i was having the warm fuzzy thought of spring this weekend.
although my neighbor's dogs are outside having fun in it,as only dogs can.
can't wait for garden season again.anybody else?

It's bad enough here in the UK. One day last week it looked like spring was finally on its way (nice and warm, not hot but there again it never is lol) but it's gone downhill again since. We may get snow sometime over weekend and beyond.
To be honest, I'm sick of it, the cold and dull weather.
I want it warm with some nice sunshine, it's not too much to ask for.
I have relatives (not well-known, I discovered them whilst researching my family history) in Worcester, Massachusetts and they've had quite a lot of snow lately. I even saw it on TV (as we watch US news sometimes) and realised that we're all a bunch of wusses here in the UK lol.

Haha! That reminds me of Consett, in County Durham. It has been known to snow there in June!

We've had the opposite down here. It's been an incredibly hot summer and where I live there has been very little rain, certainly not the rain we usually have.
It's been distressing and depressing in regard to the garden with plants dying left and right and the grassed area with patchy bits of dying grass and the rest just dust. Not only has it been hot and dry but it has also been very windy.
I'm just wondering what we have in store for us this coming winter.

our summer was kind of like that last year.if i hadn't gotten so many rain barrels,my plants would have been screwed.9 barrels notwithstanding, there still was a couple of days i had to use a bit of house water.

Lucky for us, we live somewhere that has not been really hit with the colder weather that some areas have been hit with. We even got near 60 just this last Saturday here which was nice. I am sure you are far from the only one who is really wishing spring would come so you can enjoy the sun and more warmth.

At the risk of you throwing wet noodles at me (and I'll take that with Alfredo Sauce please)....I really don't mind the cold weather, but no not too thrilled with a lot of snow. We really didn't have all that much snow this year here in the Big Apple...not like I know folks in your area did or my friends in CT. And spring? What's that? I can't really remember a real spring in ages. Seems like it can go from say 40 or 50 degrees one day, then boom..shoots up to over 80. I don't do hot weather well at all, and I seem to tolerate it less and less as I get older.

I'm with you! I can't wait for garden season!!!
I live in Northwestern Virginia. We got 15 inches of snow in that storm but it began melting almost immediately. I really wanted to go out in the snow and give that Pennsylvania groundhog a message written in it: "That PA Rodent LIED!" Early Spring, my foot! Hmmph!!!
But, the very next day (yesterday), we had MAYBE four inches left. It is warming up, going into the mid and upper 50s this weekend. Hopefully, all this snow will be gone by then.
My daffodils and hyacinths are already poking their heads out of the soil. A lot of them already have buds. My lilac bushes have buds! I was very worried about the snowstorm killing the buds so the bushes don't blossom this year but I think they're okay. Even though we got a lot of snow, it stayed above freezing all day during the storm and each day since then.
I think this storm is just winter's way of playing a joke on us. It can definitely go take a hike! I have 75 new strawberry plants coming soon and I don't want to have to move the snow aside to plant them.
But, I really do think that Spring is finally on the way. You'll see it soon. Happy gardening!!!
